Hi, As you know I'm building a turbo engine in shoe string budget. I will be using Adaptronic ECU and I believe it can run with both of them. So I would like to ask you people for your opinions. I will be using G10 crank shaft pulley with modified trigger wheel running 36-1 teeth. Attachment: File comment: Modified G10 crank pulley

Oil pump will be G16 Vitara with sensor hole built in with higher volume Suzuki RD veins. Attachment: File comment: G16 oil pump with sensor hole

For this setup, you have to run this oil sump. Attachment: File comment: Oil sump with sensor hole

Do you think 35 teeth setting which is 10 degrees will be accurate enough? I couldn't fit 60 teeth in there as it is a very small diameter wheel. Not sure sensor will pick up if teeth is too small. As it is, a teeth is same size as G10 standard width. My question is to find suitable knock sensor for me to fit on back of the block. Do you recommend any to work with Adaptronics? Let me know what you guys think. Cheers Atchi

From memory the G10 3cyl crank cam pulley has only four bolt holes where g13 has five.

Hi,
pictureshowman, it is from UK G10 from 2001 car as I got complete engine and gearbox with full car harness.
mlc2318, Are you offereing your spare to me?
I think I need to get in touch with Adaptoronics to find out which Knock sensor they recommend... I guess.
Cheers Atchi

Hi Atchi,
I'm looking at making a trigger wheel very similar to what you've done here. Would you mind posting a little more detail on what you did?
Did you buy a universal trigger wheel and turn out the centre? If so how have you attached it to the crank cam pulley? The factory ones are one piece.
I have a knock sensor, I'll see if I can see a manufacturer and part # on it.

Hi Atchi,
The knock sensor on my spare G13B motor is a "mitsubishi engine knock sensor e1t25171a". Should be cheap as chips and easy to get. You'll need to check that it's supported by your ecu.
Thanks Sam

Hi Sam,
I designed it on CAD and get it laser cut it. I have spare one made it so if you weren't in NZ, I would send it to you. Or I can send you CAD data if I can find it.
I found my crank sensor OEM Suzuki. I hope it will work!
I will keep you posted.
Cheers Atchi

Hi Atchi,
Shouldn't be any reason for it not working.
I'm guessing you've attached the laser cut trigger wheel to the back of a standard cam drive pulley? How did you attached it?
Thanks Sam

Hi Sam,
If you see 2 cam drive pulley, you can see standard 3 pot with trigger wheel as one. All I did was to machine off original trigger wheel and TIG welded replacement on.
I hope it make sense to you.

Hi Atchi,
Yes that makes sense.
My only concern with that approach is that dc tig will generally magnetize the job to some extent. Given the Suzuki sensor is a magnetic type then you may find that if the trigger wheel has been magnetized that signal is not reliable. I guess there are ways to demagnetize an object if that's the case. I believe AC Tig also less likely to magnetize but more difficult to weld.
Thanks Sam

I guess another option is the Suzuki 36-2-2-2 trigger wheel. Should be easy to get and cheap second hand, will be a direct fit and I believe is supported by Adaptronic.

Hi Sam,
Which one is that? I don't think I have seen it before.
Let me know if you can show me in eBay or something similar so that I can purchase.
Cheers Atchi

Hi Atchi, It looks like the picture attached. You should find it on G13BB and G16B. Might be on others as well. It was typically used in oe wasted spark setups. Might be hard to find on the net, might be better to try a local Suzuki wrecker. It's a 36-2-2-2. It's a common setup for Subaru WRX so supported by most after market ECU's. Some ECU's will identify the trigger pattern as Subaru EJ20. Thanks Sam

Is this a bolt on for the g13b assuming you have the oil pump and sump?

Yes, the pump matches the crank gear with integrated trigger. You can't fit the trigger gear on a normal G13B oil pump as it'll foul on the castings. That's a G16B sump out of a bale no btw.
