Since the last project didn't end so well: http://redlinegti.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=45902 It's time for something new to keep me busy.

I've bought an Suzuki Swift 1.3 GL from 1985.

The plans:
- fix the rust
- place an mk1 GTi engine with carbs and clean the engine room
- place mk1 GTi interior
- nice rims and lower it a lot
- dip the outside in matt grey and a highgloss black roof
- place exclusive bumperlips for this swifttype

Can't wait neither! All our time went into striping the last build en fixing another swift.

If everything goes as planned, next weekend will be the flying start!! Then the mk1 can go up the brigde in the air, inspect the underside and strip the compleet car.

Yesterday I've had a fight with the front bumper. Damn rusted bolts wouldn't come loose!

Made a decision about this mk1. The car has just to much rust and not only that. It also has damage on the front and rear. Not big, but big enough to make sure that the alignment of the bumpers will never be correct again.

So the GL mk1 will go.

Me jumping on the car, just because.

BUT! This saturday I'm gonna pick up an '86 GS and will continue the project!

I do not know the exact offset. I do know that they are 7j wide, and that they're too wide for the mk1. So we're gonna have to make some wheelarches

Hi,

I'm in need of G13A gearbox.
Do you have spare one which you want to swap with mk1 Gti gearbox?

I like the shape of mk1 myself. What is your plan for this beast?

Cheers
Atchi

Next to do is MOT, stripping the interior, searching for rust, placing the rest of the audio and placing the gti interior. Lowering needs to be done asap, but just do not have the time at the moment.

You've got a couple of mates with cars that could be shown as well. The blue one and the white Mk4 photos would be welcome. Lawry

Haha, I've got a whole lot of suzuki mates.

The reddish blue one is a standard GS, it's for sale.

The white one is an mk2 GL, converted to gti, mk3 interieur and mk4 rear end.
