if you do go ahead and do the conversion you have to jump up to 14's, 13's wont fit on the rear.

half hour job each corner.
will need knuckles, hubs, disks, calipers, hoses and handbrake cables. for the front youll need the same plus the driveshafts. all will bolt on no dramas. mastercylinders are the same some say the proportioning valve is different.
the Mk3 barina already has front disks not drums.

I have 13's on my gti, so do many other people on here. And the clearence issue if you encounter it is at the front end.

I'm pretty sure 13" swift stockies will fit over the rear brakes of a gti, Me and a mate did it about 7 years ago.

I'm pretty sure my barina has drums front and rear :/ I have a gti sitting at home that's been used for parts so I was hoping I could swap the breaks over from that.

yes your bad.
My barina 13 inch wheels did not fit over GTi rear disks in 1993
you can fit the gti caliper and disk on the standard front knuckle but have to machine the disks doen by 5mm to fit. savews cost on driveshafts and knuckles

Scottlee, you didnt mention if yours is 3 door or 5 door, if its 5door they have a longer wheelbase so you'd need the handbrake cables extended....
Ive found that the discs fit under 13s on the rear (tight gap) it was lack of caliper clearance on the front that means 13s dont fit over gti brakes :-k
Knuckle mount points are slightly different between gti and standard swift on the front (correct me if im wrong, its been a decade since i did such a swap)
If you fit gti front disc setup, use gti hoses as the hose to strut mount is in a different location on the standard swift
