Buzza and I are heading to a Speed off the streets day this Sunday, the 15th of Feb.

Anyone is welcome to come down for the day to either spectate or run, costs are as follows:

Track Fee: $110 for the day

Licence Fee: $50 for the year.

If you do not hold a CAMS 2S or AASA licence, you will need a wakfield club comp licence.

No special requirements for cars, so long as its roadworthy and in generally good mechanical condition you can run it.

There is no timing on this day, so I suggest if you are interested in lap times, come with a friend who can time you.

No passengers allowed unless they hold a CAMS C3 or higher licence.

Track opens at 8am for 9am start, track closes at 4pm.

There are road rego sessions and race car sessions. Sessions generally run for 20 mins, if there is lots of cars they will reduce this to 15mins. If there are open wheelers they will run a session for them as well. The gives you at least 15 mins of track time per hour, more if there is few road cars and no open wheelers.

Will be meeting near my house (2 mins off Hume Highway), Cnr of Remembrance Dr and Lupton Road Bargo at 7am. Take Avon Dam road then first left and follow it to the end.

I think its pretty much free rain. Do as you like so long as its safe. I would be willing to go ahead and make a booking for a week day if we get 10 people. Thats only $170 each for all day with as much track time as you want. Can also organise a driving instructor mate of mine for the day, he charges $350 for the day. $205 each. Bargin!

I would prefer our own private day over a circuit club day, ends up costing about the same anyway. A race track, only 9 or so others. Can't think of a better way to do it.

God im a dick...didn't read the title...would love to come down and watch. Just Don't have the cash to travel all that way and I may be tempted to take her on the track....which I cant do well not with the oil leaks it has.

Waylow - I dont mind CC days, there is timing and driver training on hand....and nothing feels better then keep up or overtaking cars that are twice your size!

Last minute change of plans, wakefield have added drifting to the bill tomorrow, I refuse to sit and wait for that s**t, so we are now going to MDTC instead. Meeting at the South Bound Shell servo at Sutton Forrest at 7:30am.

Just got home half hour ago.

What a day!

HEAPS of rain, consistent times, until disaster struck, got a good run out of turn one, carried 5km/h more down the straight, out braked myself, ran off. Ended up going through the one and only ditch on the whole infield! Pics up soon!

Ended up with a 49.24 timed by my dash.

As mark said what a day. . .

Rain was in no short suply, consistent times, abit of driver training in the ute which helped me get my times down... It was a shame mark came off, after he did the rain stoped and the track started to dry out ready for some better times.. but this is motorsport.

Marulan is a really good track.. short.. tight.. always keeping you on your toes!

My P.B for the day was a 50.88 seconds..

Carnt wait to get out there again and im keen as to get a group day going..

I know there has been a lot of talk on the net about a lack of runoff at Marulan, but there is plenty, I just happened to hit a bad patch!

I was talking to a mate of mine who races karts and apparently they're trying to get accreditation to use the Marulan track for karts, so the gokart joke mightn't be far from the truth!

Hi folks!

I took the Swift to a trackday at Marulan on Saturday - it was awesome!!!!
I love that track!! It was with CircuitClub so there were also 2 instructors which was great.. made a big difference for a newbie like me!

It is a very tight windy track - topspeed in the straight was only 120kmh, but it was fantastically challenging!! Brakes locking a wheel briefly quite often... lots of tyre squealing cornering ie road tyres a bit flogged!!!...

I have now uploaded a clip to YouTube if you are interested! (7mins long)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df4tZLwcLX4
(play it loud!!)

I am still on a complete high from it - totally awesome fun!!!!

I was amazed at how brilliantly the Swift handled and wound up.. the cars I passed (& how it was only narrowly behind my boss' M3's staggeringly good performance).

One of the instructors was in the M3 saying "this BMW goes beautifully...but that Swift..!!!"It was raw & edgy fun in the Swift - no ABS or traction control etc, just a lightweight car with stacks of power!!! I looked at the Evos squealing around the corner with all their yaw & traction stuff moderating the power - boring!!!!

Waylow & buzza9 - I am so impressed and amazed at your 49 & 50 sec laps in the rain at Marulan!!!
I had perfect weather and my best was a 48.9, and there were not many cars getting less than 48!
Cheers,
James.

Sounds like an awesome day! wish i went now and im loving the video, so close with that M3. I've still got to get mine off my mate, i'll get his arse into gear and get it from him.. Your flying down that straight i dont think we were getting much more than 90kms..

We are def going to have to organise it bt let me know when its going to be, because the cars coming off the road for a re-build in may... hehehe

especially in the rain. Rain is the best equaliser of HP.

2006: Mk1- yeah well at some stage to go on track...

true, but I'll buy you a few beers if you can hit 44secs!!
There was a racing car (red IPRA Civic in vid) that was doing 43secs, and a monster turbo MX5 with slicks that did 42secs..

Let me know next time you are going though!!! :P
