Another installment of Ignis Sport info that im sure some Swift owners may be getting tired of.

I was sent a link early this morning from a good friend who keeps up to date with whats happening with Australian cars and prices etc. The link suggests that the Ignis Sport is now selling at 17990 (+onroads) to celebrate the 1-2-3 win in Turkey.

Link is here:
http://www.nextcar.com.au/n.suzuki.ignis.04jul.html

Interested, because I just bought an Ignis.. (but im not fussed on price because I organised a very good deal with the local dealer) I decided to attempt to confirm this new price with Suzuki Australia. Anyone who has _ever_ tried to get information from Suzuki Australia will know it is like getting blood from a stone.. and i'm not even sure that is intentional.

I called up at lunch time today and asked someone from Suzuki Australia Automobile Sales about the new claimed price.. and in an interesting move they said I would have to call my dealer to confirm they were selling at that price. Now I often ask Suzuki Australia about all sorts of rumors going around but I have never had this response, it echod to me the 'I can neither confirm nor deny those rumors' but suprised me that someone from Suzuki Australia sales doesn't know the current Ignis Sport retail price?.

So as advised I contacted my local Suzuki dealer and asked them about the 17990 price. The person I asked could not confirm if this was the price they were selling the Ignis Sport at (hrm?), but they are going to get back to me about it (I will ask when I go pick up my car).

So.. I will start up the rumor mill. The article above, although from a questionable source does seem to be written in the usual Suzuki style, and it is very like them to have a sale because of something like the rally win. Im thinking that Suzuki Australia may be giving the Ignis Sport to dealers at a reducded price so they can sell at 17990 but it is up to the dealer if they want to sell the car for the reduced price. Further to this I checked the Suzuki marketing site and there isn't any news about this new price so I am interested to know where the information originated from?

Thats about it, unexciting to most im sure but may be potentially helpful to anyone that is thinking about grabbing an Ignis Sport. I will keep you posted :)

I did see a DEMO for sale a couple of weeks ago advertised for 17990 drive away. This was not a bad price because the demo usually have tinted windows and a few other extras fitted as well.

Yeah I came on to say it was in the paper, looks like someone beat me to it :)

Not sure what to make of it, interested to see if Suzuki Australia will now confirm it. Pretty awesome price for a car that is a heap of fun to drive ;)

i heard it on the radio.

i would've bought one if:

a) the yellow was bright yellow

b) the black was actually black, not dark charcoal

c) the coloured highlights in the interior corresponded with the colour of the car

d) electronically-assisted power steering. (bigger wheels + failed unit + no warranty = big$$)

gimme a MK1 instead.

Our local dealer stopped pushing the Ignis Sport and has moved on to the Liana Sedan 1.8 VVT with 7 speaker stereo for 19990+onroad.

Yeah, I got stooged. I paid $18,890 and I didn't get a watch!

Oh well... When I went to the Suzuki dealer, they didn't even have the sport model in stock, they had to drive me across town to another dealer for a test drive... they said they didn't stock it because no-one requested it... meh.
