Looks as if the SISOC site will be closed down soon. Hopefully some of the threads will be migrated elsewhere but if there's any info on there that you refer to then you may want to make a copy while you still can.

Good luck to them.

I would offer to help them out or buy the site, but the owner never approved my account.

I can tell you why the numbers are dwindling.. all accounts require administrator approval. I've attempted to make 3 different accounts over the last 6 months now (2 since this was posted) and not one has been approved.

I can only imagine how massive the backlog is for approvals

They had an attack of spam accounts 1 or 2 weeks ago so are probably being cautious. I've pm'ed them about yours. If it doesn't get sorted let me know.

The simple solution is to upgrade the forum to one that supports a captcha scheme that works.

Username that I was chasing activation on was bzchi.

Cheers.

If you can't be arsed upgrading the entire system, I had a quite a bit of success in ever-so-slightly modifying the page to create a new account. Just open the PHP script, and find/replace a couple of variable names or something. If the signup page varies from what the bots are expecting, you won't get any spam accounts. I've heard another good one was to throw in a checkbox asking if they are a bot (and default it to checked).

Failing that, I haven't had any bots since upgrading PHPBB2 to PHPBB3.

Found an awesome new site!

Check it:
http://www.sisoc.org/

Was talking to the owner, not the kind of guy that would take a forum for ransom.

If it is just meant to be a redirect to redline then I'm not sure that's helpful.

People are trying to get a new UK based forum off the ground ...

Not sure how it's not helpful? Will let people know a forum exists that caters to Ignis Sport owners.

The fact people ignore that I have offered to provide what people want, on here, for free and ad free is beyond me.

You're going to encourage the use of a free forum provider?

Can lead a horse to water ;)
