 Post subject: Ignis front speaker mounting depth?

Hey all, i need someone to tell me the maximum amount of room in the front midbass section of an ignis. im looking at morel components, and they need 2 inches of mounting depth, wondering if it has that much... otherwise 100kp focals will do, but morels are so much more. ANY help would be awesome. Dave.

I found that 2-way speakers seldom fit properly in the front. For the cover to fit on, I had to mount my speakers under the parcel shelf.

Take a look at this pic:

Note that the speakers aren't sitting on top of the mounts like the factory ones. It was that extra 3mm that made them fit. It was a little tricky slotting them in, but far from impossible.

When you're buying speakers, make sure that the centre tweeter doesn't protrude much past the cone edge. By memory there's plenty of room under the speaker, but you may want to check.

pioneer make a nice shallow mount 4", it used it in all four corners of my car, no problems with the covers.
