are you from the dandenong area?
if we ever have another IS cruise you'll be more than welcome - the first yellow car!
fill up with optimax 98ron asap
it could be that's the same oil that's been lying in the sump since new
i'd get that flushed too

Does optimax 98 run better in these cars then Bp Ultimate ?
Also which oil?I havent seen 5w-30 on the shelves?

I've tried both, they're the same to me
Optimax Extreme definitely better
Try Castrol Edge 5W30

The only fuel which I found runs better is Optimax Extreme 100RON. The rest are all about the same, although I find BP ultimate is more consistent i.e. an average tank of BP is as good as a 'good' tank of mobil 98/optimax.

Busier service stations tend to have fresher fuel.

Seems subjective. I thought regular Optimax the best. And for oil I'm on Shell Helix Ultra as the range goes higher for hot weather protection.

I read about the recall on the driveshaft, when did this happen because i dont think i had mine done. I moved about 2 months after buying it so didnt get a letter or anything.
Is it a major problem?

Consequences can be. I'd definately get it done.

I've heard of it leading to a blown gearbox.. They'll fix it for free, so get it done.

Gday Guys this is a cheeky little car, filled up with optimax extreme tonight and it feels like its picked up a couple of kw,lol.

I tell u what other cars on the road dont like being passed by a ignis.
A old Tm magna tried to take me and then got upset and started to tailgate me,then i upset a Hilux ute and he did the same only to be left in my rear mirror as i scooted through a tight left hand sweeper.

And on the way to work here is a tight left hander off the freeway, took it in 3rd and the ignis got all crossed up and almost went around sideways.
Scared me a tad didnt expect it.

Cant wait to get some kays up and put a cat back on or maybe a full system do you think its worthwhile??

Ive dropped a heap of cash in the past couple of years modding v8's dont want to go down that path again but this car is so much fun its hard to resist, lol.
cheers

Do you have these items for sale?
I must say i like the look of the suzukisport pod filter setup with the carbon fibre cover.
Also what do you think of the Remus Catback?

The iggy got serviced today,at suzuki.
Dandy mitsubishi have lied to me saying the books were sent tuesday, ive received nothing.
Now im forced to re-order books,no spare key $220 for a blank key,Ouch.
The recall which i have a sticker on the car saying it was done has not been lodged with suzuki so i have to go and get it re-done to update suzukis register.
Also magnatec 10w-30 oil was used by the dealer, and ive been quoted $220 for a sports muffler, tailpipe and tip which im happy with to be fitted next weekend.
Enquired about a remus and cost $890 delivered from sydney,a bit pricey i think.
Anhow thats my update.

Cheers

Exhaust has been fitted, its only 2" mild steel, mandrel bent with a sports muffler and twin tip, cant notice performance difference but it sounds a little tuffer.
Also got windows tinted which makes the car look a bit cooler.
Would like to do a ecu tune if anyone knows any place in melbourne who does good results.Have read a few threads about it but not much info is available.

The IS engine sounds so much tougher with a bigger exhaust :)

You can't really 'tune' a factory ECU. They can't be reprogrammed. You gotta get another ECU. You can either get a full replacement, which runs standalone, or a piggyback, which is another ECU which works with the factory one.

And yes, there is very little information available.

Its a custom mandrel bend job, starts from the rear muffler.
Just a simple sports muffler,2" mild steel pipe and s/s twin tip.
Blitz did the job up here in hoppers crossing for $250.
Speak to Alan nice bloke,if your up this way on a fri/sat shoot us a post and we can meet up.

Cheers
