Has something changed on the BBS.
Recently read new messages comes up with about 5 pages worth many of which I read a week or so back.
I seem to remember it only showing new messages

Have noticed this too ... I thought it was my history/cookie issue .. but it appears to be others that are having the same issue.

Is the issue that old messages are showing up as new/unread?

I haven't seen it myself, interested to know more about it though :?

When you click on 'view new posts' normally all you would get are the new posts - ones that are new from last time you visited

Now you just keep getting a long list of all past posts....

This is on Firefox, Chrome and Safari

If you're referring to new forum posts and not messages (PMs) it is weird.. because it's still got the correct behaviour for me :|

Can you try forcing a logout then re-login? (if you have your session saved). Interested to know if there is a simple fix :-k
