When i bought my old 95 gti it came with a momo “race” series steering wheel. Feels good to use but it’s so old, looks like date stamped “07 96” and the brass horn ring is grooved and the circuit is not working too good. Does anyone know of any agents in aus for these? Initial searches don’t show much. Thinking i will have to make my own.

I'm not sure whether Momo ever made a boss kit to suit the Swift. It could be a SAAS, BSA or Autotechnia boss kit on a Momo wheel.

I found a US momo site that lists the hub adaptor as “Swift 92> part# 8911”. The actual horn ring has a brass ring molded into a plastic cover that snugly fits over a raised section on the boss rear. It looks like it’s meant to be replaced and possibly the same for a lot of other models. If i cut a 3mm brass ring and solder the wire on the back it should work, or i could buy a whole new hub for $80+. I sent out a few emails so will see what happens. 23 years old and still in pretty good condition, these are built to last.

It turns out that i cannot buy it alone. You can only get them on a new hub. So i am making some on Sunday. If anyone else has a momo wheel and needs one let me know soon. You will still need your original plastic molding.

After all that work it turns out it was the other end if the earth post sticking out of the combination switch. Moved too many times in and out and the wire snapped off. Probably a common thing at this age.
