Hey guys so im having a problem with my mk2 90 GTi
When the car is cold it has a rough idle and hesitates when i try to give it gas it just stays there so im guessing its vacuum leak though i dont hear any hissing.
When the car warms up after 10 minutes it goes normally.
New fuel pump new fuel filter spark plugs cleand the isc everythings seems to be fine.
What are some places you can normally find a vacuum leak on a GTi.
Thankss

If the problem disappears when the engine is warm then it probably isn't an air leak. Sounds more like a problem with the water temp sensor. Have you checked for codes?

If it is a vacuum leak there are normally only two places and they are the inlet manifold gasket or the injector insulator grommet into head. If you had a leak it would normally manifest itself as a misfire especially in the higher revs. So I doubt you have a vacuum problem.

Should mention that the car has misfire when cold and also very uneven idle...jumps from 800-2300 when cold as it warms up the idle settles at around 1200rpm and when its fully warmed up it drives completely normal.

Unplug the tps just to see if that sorts it out, if so, replace it

It sounds a little like mine when the cold start valve was playng up. I just blanked off the valve with a thick gasket and capped the rubber hose section. It behaves now but slightly sluggish for a few minutes.
