hmm was just thinking it might be good to have a IIB (interested in buying) choice in the for sale section. we have an EOI but that is for selling things so would be good for people who are interested in buyign something but dont 100% want it

cheers, Leon

EOI=expression of interest

so if you have something to sell and your wondering how much its worth, or if you have something to seel but your not definately going to sell it but you might for the right price then you can put it up as an EOI so people knwo that your not 100% going to sell it

WTB = Want to buy

Doesn't mean your fully committing yourself to buying :wink:

Exactly. No offense, but when I read the idea of an "IIB" I thought to myself we should just set up a "tyre kickers" section. :lol:

well was just an idea, wether it be good or bad. just thought it would be a good idea because i know some people aren't to happy when they get messed around by someone who they thought really wanted to buy something, whereas if they know the person buying is only interested in buying then they know that the sale could quite easily not happen

No thats a good point, but I guess it is up to forum users as a whole to discourage tyre kicking. Personally I think if you're not sure you want to buy something, you shouldn't post at all!

yeah but there will always be people who will still post. some people may just want to see what is out there and what prices are and then if the prices are good enough they'll buy it, basically same principle as an eoi. just for slower people like me :lol: whats tyre kicking? :?

i dont mean to be rude..

But if i saw a interested in buying thread.. i would treat it as a Want to buy thread.. And there for post up what i've got and shoot of a pm asking if they want to deal....

Either way you will still anger some people who thing the interested in buying thread is a Want to buy (They are so very close)

If you are after a price.. i'm sure just a post in the general discussion would do want you want..

If you car interested in buying something.. a WTB is not a fixed contract forcing you to buy the product...

Another forum that I frequent has changed the For Sale section so that it is automatically locked :idea:
i.e. there can be no replies to the post.

If you are really interested, you have to PM, email or phone the seller.
It has really worked to reduce the number of "tyre kickers" & "snipers".

Thats not a bad idea, only that the people trying to sell thier cars or parts for 3 -4 months would be forced to post the same object 8-10 times to keep it on the front page instead of just a simple bump. Also filling the search with the same object 8-10 times.
Work a way around that and its a good idea...

If people are curioous to know what a part is worth, why can't they just use the search function and constrain the search to parts for sale.
