Hi guys

I have a gti motor in a sierra and need to check my base timing. The loom was made purely to run the engine and I haven't got one of these plugs to earth out in the loom under the bonnet. My question is what colour is the wire that comes out the ECU that I can earth out to sort out my timing?
I have trolled this forum and Im sure its a purple wire with a green stripe but want to make sure before I blow something up.
Thanks

Violet with a Yellow trace was the original wire. Grounding ECU pin A22 is what you're looking for. Technical FAQ, Electrical, MK3 pinout, 16-2 is the Diagnostic fuse or 16-3 is the diagnostic plug.
