Sounds very similar. Perhaps just the gearbox and dyno differences.

well this is a prick of a job but with some wet sanding elbow grease and a clear coat I think the splitter will come out ok. was dressed up like a spaceman today as I dont like this carbon dust...

now Im making a foot rest for the passenger based on the same principle...think ill just do glass with a final coat of carbon to give it a nicer look.

Just looking at your dyno results

Very impressive how low an rpm it starts developing power & torque & how low an rpm it is making max power

I just relooked at my dyno page & my motor started to make power higher up the rpm & max power at 9000 rpm

With the close ratio dog box this should be a weapon on the track

Best wishes for a great result on the track

thanks JasStv....yes it seems rather odd with the 4 into one with that fact....perhaps dialing in the cams with the adjustable pulleys helped? The builder sent the cams to Kelford cams to "read" their profile and determine a suitable position to set the inlet and exhaust. the builder did not like my adjustable wheels and their markings so re-drilled them for a much tighter hole on the pin....and remarked them....then set them as per kelfords Instruction. Something definitely changed thats for sure because that curve is totally changed on the torque side.

yes it is going to be interesting to see ow it goes thats for sure.

today Im fitting the splitter and finishing the ducting.

got both helmets set up with an intercom seeing as Nick is having a drive on Saturday...then we can talk to each other.

tomorrow Im refitting the oil cooler and accumulator....and blowing some clear on the splitter.
then i'm off to get it weighed.

hope to have some go pro footage from this weekend coming.

What settings you have on the cam gears?

no idea yet...I need to ring the builder and get the specs.

so splitter almost done...I built a piece to attach it to on the car which doubles as a crash bar and a towing bar....Also the mounts are a two bolt affair so the splitter is quick to remove for towing onto the trailer. Just have to remove the front bumper first. Man you can soak up some time making this stuff.

Ok just got to clear the splitter which should bring up the shine on the carbon.

Is it finished to perfection...no
is it heavier than it needs to be ....yes
do I overbuild....yes....

do i care...not now... 8-[

finishing up today....sent the splitter out for clear coating....lazy and i don't want to do two pak spraying...plus im useless at it.
(and it was only 50 bucks!) pick it up tomorrow.

put some rubber around the pod filter to block off that entrance into the engine bay....bit ugly but at this stage it just has to be effective.

sealing up the radiator area...and the oil cooler area...just got to finish that up tomorrow and gas it up....then on to the track saturday.

I cannot "like" the post to show my enthusiasm and thinking of something to say and typing is too much work. But I am watching!

Love your work Glen, such dedication and nothing like a deadline to keep you motivated!

Can you take a side profile pic of the front bar and splitter please?

Would like to see where your splitter edge sits in relation the the front bar "shadow".

Thanks
Simon

bugger just looked at posts and i dont think i put a side shot in...Ill put everything i have taken tonight in here.
its ready for the track....

The splitter sticks out about 115mm from the plastic "filler" which is 105mm tall. The splitter is 115mm from the ground. The plastic "filler" is straight down from the lower edge of the bumper.

The splitter has been made "standalone" in the fact it does not connect to the bumper in any way...I was going to Deus fastener it but decided it was not necessary...the plastic sits firmly against the aluminium footing i bolted to the splitter and then carbon cloth behind.
The splitter is super stiff....

Now will it be effective....probably not.....but like I said...looks cool and chick puller....totally!... 8-[

well the car has gone faster than it ever has with Nick at the wheel. 1:22.870. a full second quicker than me...on a worse day....then he took and excursion onto the grass on the last lap...he was trying to beat my time...little bugger...i knew he would hes 18....would i do anything different at that age....you bet your ass I would not have. he just wanted to go faster than dad. few missed changes....2 to 1... [-X but then thats what the training was for...hope the box is ok.... 8-[

next thing is a definate lock out on 1st after you leave it......

tomorrow is my drive.

some issues with back firing on the rev limiter which my son managed to find often.... and chris is about to log in on team viewer and tweak the fuel pressure thingy. (thats a scientific term) he said its something to do with fuel pressure cut on rev limit....he is going to tweak that to be a softer cut but a flame out the exhaust looked kinda cool....dont even tell me the bad s**t about back firing with hyd lifters...i already know.....we will tweak that out hopefully.

soon there will be go pro for today...showing his over cooked braking lol....god i am glad he never hit anything....

damn car sounds like a very angry wasp....real throaty too with the 4 into 1....its awesome.

78 psi cold....60 psi hot at power and 35 to 40 hot idle....temp in the 80 degree range and never goes above 90....think the cooling is solved....couple of issues to discuss there too at a slightly later time as im about to connect up to team viewer to get some tweaking done.
good day today....

Ecstatic to hear that it went well and lasted long enough that you get to have a hoon tomorrow!

Will await video footage eagerly.

=D> Well done all the hard work and heartache finally paid off. You'll have a smile ear to ear. It certainly sound on song. Don't be mean let your son take the glory with quicker lap time for now.

too late guys....I did a 1:22:055 today.... 8-[

Had a couple of issues with fuel flow.....I figured out they don't go without gas....my fuel gauge is all up the wop. We went lean but lost power and my tuner looked at the data and said there wasn't enough power on to hurt it....fill it up and we had to turn the fuel pressure protection back on....we believe there is some fuel surging issues....

there are go pro vids to follow when I get to upload them later tonight to u tube....got the folks here for dinner so be a few hours.....great little car.
