please, for the love of god, make this eligible to compete in WTAC. i think we all want to see you destroying GTRs and Evos in an economy hatchback designed in the 80s...

That's the main reason for racing the swift. Sticking it to the big guys. I have been slack at updating I have raised the shifter to a higher position. Attachment:

Do you need to blank up the leading edge of the rear diffuser to allow the Aero to work? at the moment it will split the air above and below the planes and reduce its efficiency...if my reading is correct. What material is it?

Shouldn't, as it works on the same principle as the F1 front wing. Slight angle down at the front produces downforce.

A F1 front wing is an inverted wing producing downforce as it generates high pressure and low pressure zones on opposing faces, and is stiff enough to transfer the resultant force into the body. the rear diffuser also works on using low pressure high velocity air against high pressure slower air as well as reattaching the air to the ambient stream. It is not traditionally a wing. but a series of ducts/channels which change the air. they kink up at the back to slow the air creating the higher pressure thus dragging the car down...or something like that. By Allowing air from under the car to escape above the diffuser it negates the channeling and pressure modifying effect (air like and fluid will take the path of least resistance) and air pressure obstruction in the path like a diffuser tunnel pressure variation will force the air over the working planes and reduce the opposite of lift in this case...cant think of the word. In my rudimentary understanding id be looking to blank the leading edge off to maximise air going under to increase the aero effect. But Im possibly wrong!

Think of it as a poor mans double diffuser where the air can pass above and below.
I was just looking at how to mount and where in those pictures. I'm trying to get away with out running a big f$&en wing hanging off the back. One of the guys over here who degined and built formula ford said I should give it a go and does not see why it would not work.
What I do know is the height I run the car at is not very efficient for a flat floor. The car need to be 70mm lower.
So who knows I will give it a go and let you know.

could you potentially lower that much and keep the same lower control arm geometry using ae86 style roll centre adjusters/tie rod spacers? or even a custom lower control arm like those T3 ultra adjustable ones? you would need to run pretty tall spacers and they would need to be custom fabricated but the japanese toyota guys seem to have huge success with them on their N2 racing cars.

hey Zuboo, the motor sound nice, keep up the good work I like your electric power steer, was it complicated to set up? Is there much of a power drain from the power steer pump? How's the aero going?, I know it will work it just depends at what speed it kicks in

The trouble with that is you still need to fit a driveshaft in somewhere.

im just saying you can get the car sitting alot lower if you put a spacer between the lower ball joint and the spot where it attaches on the front knuckle. it lowers the roll centre of the car without losing the factory geometry same as something like a drop knuckle. this is a better pic of what im talking about on an AE82 corolla FX front knuckle: Attachment: File comment: AE92 roll centre adjuster.
