The idea with no grout in the block we are seeing if the grout is pushing against the outer wall when the cylinder moves around under load and then causing the block to crack at the bottom of the water jacket.

If we dont try it with out we will never know as all my engines have ran some form of grout over the years.

Dan Great result
Lots of learning along the way
Imagine what you could achieve with a billet block & bullet proof head studs

243hp at 10psi is a well tuned sr20det number so with 700cc less capacity is cultus pikes peak hp!

The weight of a bare g13b without grout is 51kg vs 88kg for an sr20det (both bare engine sump to rocker)
the g13b the way you have set it up is a off the scales feat, congrats and keep the enthusiasm going.

can side of the block issues be solved with stronger girdle like the Monster Tajima G16B?
the g16b is more prone to flex in this area so just throwing it out there in case this area is overlooked
and only using stock steel ladder brace.

So now she has the hart of a Honda and the weight ended up better than expected 706kg but few more items still to be added.

All going to plan it should have only gained 40kg but more importantly the engine is mounted back on the fire wall so the weight split is still with in 1% from where it was.

I will update as it keeps moving forward.

While part of me is a little sad this is no longer Suzuki Powered it just makes sense for such a highly developed car to make the switch to the best available power plant to move forward.

I'll be eagerly watching how this goes and what kind of numbers you can run with a much larger engine tat can handle more boost as well! Good luck!

love the new running gear, i'm not a honda fan, but i like the K series motor :)
is that a turbo hanging off the back of the motor? and a larger throttle body?
keep up the good work :D

The K motors are a really well built engine and i if i was going to the effort to fit some thing it needed to be a known reliable strong motor.

The motor currently fitted i bought off a mate who was running it in has starlet. Last time the engine was dyno it produced 330hp ATW with this setup on an unopened engine. The g13b is cracking blocks over the 300hp but the k20 can do the same on an unopened factory engine which is crazy.

But what really pushed it over the line was chatting to some guys at World Time Attack with similar engine mods i have done to the g13b they were able to handle 800hp reliably which is crazy.

Back to the question, yes that's a turbo hanging off the back and an ungraded throttle body. The manifold is a bit like our cultus ones where is is the best factory one on the market and does really well against the aftermarket equivalents. The turbo is really on the small side GTX2971 but i will give it a go and see how it goes.

And now i some how own two k20s

Though i would do a vid of the fun times with the G13B reving to 9000 RPM with 30psi pushing it along. It was a fun ride now on to the k20 which is getting wired up as we speak.

Good bye G13b its been a fun ride.

End of an era Dan. Have always enjoyed watching your progress with the G13B over the years. Onto bigger and better things I guess. Can't argue with what the Honda engines and aftermarket support offer though. Please keep us posted on the progress.

Dear Zuboo:

Do you currenty have a 100% complete Swift GTI turbo car, as seen in the video montage. That is, 30psi, beating everything at the track spec??

If so, how much.
