got a roll bar to suit a mx6 and very happy to say with matter of cutting off 2 bolts it fits my convertible too. bolts straight on to the seat belt top mounts, with the seat all the way back has 10mm clearance and doesn't interfere with the top , right height too. :)

finally finished the interior , turn the 3 piece convertible top cover into a 1 piece and can only be used when the top is down because the roll bar is in the way.

Very tidy setup with the interior mate. Looks brand new.

Have you thought of taking one of the Swifts down to the
All Japan Day Car Show at Glenelg next year ?

Just curious as to what you used for the roll bar ? Was it for a Miata ? Really liking your build on this project.

thanks rag, got the roll bar on ebay , expecting to do mods to it , but the top mounts fitted perfectly to the seat belt anchor points. hoops lined up to seats . just drilled and bolted the rear mounts . added the bottom brace for extra rigidity and because it looked like the sydney harbor bridge without it,

whats that toomanyweight /? ilove criticism, keeps me from going over board .i was thinking the same thing when i added the roll bar, adding a useless boat anchor , but i did remove the air con , power steering and heater.

Sorry, I should have started my post with "I love your work !!" . We have several different types of cars and as a result we are in several car clubs and I must say this is probably the best and most thorough build I have ever seen :!:

not sure, no need to be a sorry or sarcastic ,im stumbling through this build but having fun, your point on adding weight is valid. i read that mx5 convertible has a 1 to 1 weight ratio front and rear. so i put the battery in the boot and was thinking the roll bar and brace might distribute the weight to the rear for a closer 1 to 1 ratio. not sure if it works for front wheel drive.
i prefer criticism, adds to a better build.

I love how you’ve done the dash mate. Can’t wait to see this thing fired up and see what numbers it makes.

thanks answer , the dash fitment was luck a fluke, really its dodgy as. all i did was grind the guts out and add the form foam which goes around the iq3 from packaging to fill the gaps . stop bugging me about the engine and numbers . your giving me an anxiety attack to hurry up and finish it 8-[ .
