Just a few rules that have to be laid down in order to keep the place tidy, and make sure that everyone can find what they are looking for. ;)

New Topics
When posting a new item please use the following in the title/heading:

FS: Item for sale
WTB: Wanted to buy
EoI: Expressions of interest (Your item is not for sale, but you'd like an estimated value.)

Follow this with a brief description of the item, and then your location. (state). For example:

FS: Enkei GZero 17" Wheels (QLD)
or
WTB: Cultus Intake Manifold (NSW)

Private Sales Only
This section is for private (non-commercial) sellers only, unless previously organised / authorised with a moderator.

Suitable Items
Because of constant abuse of the for sale section and criticism from members there is now a hard stance against non-Suzuki items in the RedlineGTi for sale section, vehicles especially. If you want to sell a non Suzuki item or vehicle, this forum is not the place to do it.

Courtesy:
If somebody has posted an item that you have seen cheaper elsewhere, or you have some other problem with the sale, please contact the person responsible PRIVATELY instead of posting directly into the thread.
Do not flame people for trying to sell something.
If there are other problems that cannot be resolved with the person responsible, please contact a moderator to look into it.

Duplicate Threads
Do not create multiple or duplicate threads for the same item. This causes unnecessary clutter. If you would like to change the details of an existing sale or remind forum users that your item is still for sale, then you may "bump" your thread by making a post.

Bumping:
To be fair, do not "bump" your sale unnecessarily. It is only considered appropriate to make this type of post if your item details and/or price has changed, or after a week if your thread has fallen off the first page of the 'for sale' section. Excessive bumping will lead to your thread being locked or removed.

When Sold:
If you have sold an item, change the subject of your post to read "Sold: Item Description", _do not_ remove the description of the item or the post completely as this makes it difficult for people who are tracking the item to check if it has been sold!

Hi guys and girls, I'm new to the site, but I gonna ask one big favour, Can everyone put their State at the end of the forum entries please. It would be so much quicker for me to know where people are that need something or are selling things especially. I'm in retail and sell gti and suzuki bits as well so it would be easier for me to help the site members if they're chasing something or selling something. Well thats my bit of ra ra for now so thanks, and by the way, great site! Marty c'o Marty's Auto Parts and Performance, Brisbane, 07 33725455

Added 'When Sold' section as this is a growing problem.

added "Suitable Items" because of constant crticisim about abuse of the For Sale section. I have been heavily policing what goes into the For Sale section recently and it has resulted in a far better environment for people to buy/sell products.

Do applications have to be made for commercial seller section?
And there dont seem to be clear guidelines of locating appropriate sales, cars parted out should be in For Sale-Parts, complete cars should be in For Sale-Cars, and services like fabrication or spraypainting should be in commercial or Parts, not in Cars.
I know you show support for trusted sellers, and of course want to give them exposure that the commercial section might not provide, but wouldnt their interests best be served by being made a sticky in the appropriate section?

If we stickied posts in the relevant section, the first page of the relevant section would be filled with commercial seller stickies?... if I am understanding what you are saying correctly.

If you have a good track record with members in the for sale section and can offer Swift specific parts reliably then that makes you a candidate for the commercial section ;)

Possible to introduce and enforce a rule about the number of for sale threads that a member can have when selling the parts of one car?
Latest person doing this has 7 threads all for individual parts!
No one else who has for sale threads selling numerous parts has a problem doing so with a single thread and have been doing so for years

pretty shitfull having to search back numerous pages just to bump your thread back up to the top, to have it punted off the first page with in a few small hours which would be fair enough if it was individual people bumping 1 thread
Insert sig here
