Highly recommend these chips for NA swifts (Can't comment on turbo ones as I haven't had one). Made a great difference to power on a stock standard motor. Even with mods like SR20 throttle body and exhaust it made a difference. Incredibly cheap upgrade for any one starting out in swifts.

just wondering are these chips fine to use with an engine that isnt stock.
i had a turbo system set-up on the car, but once the turbo was removed and the ECU for it was removed i had to fit a stock ECU in it.
but for some reason the car doesnt like the stock ECU in it. just doesnt seem to run right now.
so just want to know will the ECU's ya do run fine in an engine thats had a bit of work.

cheers billy

Yes.. These Chips work very well on modified engines... Myself.. I run Cosworth D2/552 Cams (Similar to GrpA) SR20 TB, Extractors, Exhaust + All the usual mods and these ECU's run it fine...

PM me your engine specs so i can just make sure, I once fitted a Stock ECU to my car with my current mods.. and found it unbearable to be honest... Soon as i re-fitted a chipped ECU... the car was much more happier

Hey Gtaye
Is there any way I can check my ecu to see if it's chipped or not ?
I'm only new to all this, got myself a ruff mk3 that's had few minor upgrades from previous owner/owners ie; extractors, exhaust , pod filter, just unsure of wot it's got that I can't see?
If it hasn't got 1 I'll Definatly be hittin up, been lookin thru the thread & seeing a lot of smily faces after there refit, so even if there is 1 I'll prolly still be hittin u up so I know everything I put in it isn't going to be Bodgetech!

Not that I endorse revving your engine excessively, but the easiest way to check is to rev it until you hit the fuel cut. If it is at 7200rpm, it's standard. If its 8600rpm, it's chipped.

Not the easiest method, but you could just remove the ECU and check the chip. A modified chip will be easy to identify (read the sticker on it).

Easiest way... Let the car warm up.... get to normal temp.. and see if it will rev passed 7,650.. thats the stock rev limit.. if it does.. then an aftermarket chip has been fitted

What's the deal if I just send u My ECU, chip it & send back the same 1, saves you using ur own stock & it's not the on road anyway so it doesn't matter if it takes a few days, no rush??

That's Awsome!

Met a young bloke yesterday from this site through fake-swift to pick up a part, he's had them in a couple of his old swifts aswell as a few of his mates, all were very happy with what they got, even with go-fast bits said fuel economy was improved aswell as performance!!

DING ! I'm sold !
Shall get some $$$$ together & put my order in, hopefully in the next couple weeks!

Thanx for the info Squirt, much appreciated!

Hey mate,
Depending on your location is it possible I can come to you, you chip my ECU and I still keep the same one (as in you chip my original one)? If so where do you live and when are you available over the next few weeks? If I only have an exhaust, and maybe extractors and a better air filter, does it matter if I do some bigger work such as CAMS in the future after the chip, or would it have to be adjusted or rechipped?

Cheers

Hey dude, apologies if I've said this a million times already but very keen on getting this done is it possible I can drive to you, you chip my current (factory never touched) ecu and be done like that. Obviously I'll pay in cash and can give a bit extra for you to do it. Is that possible? If not would you rather I come to you and we swap mine out for one of your chipped ones and you keep mine and of course pay in cash again. I'd just prefe to keep my original ecu as I feel more comfortable as I know the life of it etc. I know it doesn't really matter but it's just a preference. Is that possible? Hope it all makes sense.
Also is it possible that these can be hooked up to a computer and reflashed/programmed?
Cheers dude
