:) ALL SUZUKI'S WELCOME :)

I don't think anything can compare to the WOW we all experienced at HATCH ATTACK but it
would be good to catch up with some new and old mates. If anyone is interested in an early
dinner there are plenty of places near the start point to grab a good feed before we set out
on the road. Anyone interested in a pre-meet feed?

On the last drive we all discussed having a night cruise out to see the glow worms and bats
that reside around Natural Bridge on the edge of Springbrook National Park. I've done this
drive during the day and night but the night run certainly adds a level of difficulty with
limited visability.

The drive involves a drop over the border with some good hill climb and twisty sections.
Once we get into enemy territory the road conditions are not optimum as we start heading
back into the mountains to the border but the view on a clear night is just breathtaking.
It's well worth the stop at the top with no light, let your eyes adjust to the dark, then see
all the stars you can't see with the excessive ambient light of the 'burbs. The walk down to
Natural Bridge will take around an hour for a return trip. Once back on the road its another
decent climb in through the back of Springbrook and a look at the Gold Coast lights from
far away. The drive back down the mountain is nothing to sneeze at either and good enough
to test the mettle of any driver.

This will be a NIGHT CRUISE - Saturday 2nd November
Meeting up by 6.30pm at the mouth of the Currumbin Creek
Making our way along the border and back to QLD with a walk into Natural Bridge
Another great climb to Springbrook Lookout and see the lights of the Gold Coast.
Then cruise back down the mountain, finishing at The Spit.
This cruise has also been posted on swiftfive.net so we could be seeing some new swift
friends comming along for the fun
:)

Full course is 123km, taking around 2hours30mins to complete. Add in an hour for the
Natural Bridge walk plus any other shenanigans we can get up to on the night.
The road heading back into QLD from the cane flats is a bit dodgy to rough with one red light
stop to be negotiated. From there its all good.

Suggested equipment;
TORCH/FLASHLIGHT
SOMETHING WARM TO WEAR
COMFORTABLE WALKING SHOES
UHF
(ch13 for comms on the night)

I'll meet you at end destination as its 10mins from my house lol and I still don't have a licence

But I've been trying to get up and take photos of the glow worms for so long, wear a jacket that is weather proof with a hood, bats will sh*t on you everywhere if you go into the caves!

There is a hidden little rock pool where the glow worms sit on the roof at night and actually light the water underneath, seen a lot of local togs do night fashion work in there, bit of a trek but if you don't have to carry 25kg of equipment like we usually do should be a breeze to walk there, it's well worth it from what i've seen :)

Hey Buddy, I'm in. I'll bring the little lady too. She's been on about the glow worms since you first mentioned it.

Current weather forecasts are giving us a green light
Hopefully very little cloud to get a little star gazing in from mountain tops :)

Good fun last night even though there were only three cars. Had a good laugh along with seeing some glow worms, a big eel, fluffybum insects and giant earth invading ants. Curse those squeaky wheel bearings 8-[
