Blew the headgasket on my turbo g13b on friday (caused by an exhaust gasket leak overheating cylinders 3 and 4)
Nothing major, will have it back together this afternoon.
Rayvens is running poorly, suspected leakage @ valves and made worse by the fact we havent aquired a less restrictive exhaust for it yet.
Mine will be there, but Rayvens undecided if shes bringing hers to the hills or just taking a seat in mine.
Any update on list of attendance? markymark cant be there, am hoping sk4wd might and havent heard back from Hertz

 Butters, why dont you let the air out of your tyres and slide it on maccas trays (now That would be low)

That sucks to hear about both your cars. I hope you have a garage/workshop you can be doing your work in with this weather :P Not So Swift won't be able to make it if I remember correctly. I'll be bringing Percy along (that's his username) if he gets back to me before Sunday, If not i'll have a free seat.

Because well, that'd be silly, immature and a hell of a lot of fun. =D> :P
Nah, I'll be putting her on ramps Saturday arvo to get my trolley jack underneath and drop her another inch and a half. Still waiting on my RE2/3 kit back from paint #-o

So far so good on my side.. Just consuming quite A LOT of fuel now. No fuel leaks or whatsoever just that a full tank can only last me 350km the most.

I have this annoying problem after changing the fuel pump to a walbro. Whenever i start filling up the car, i cannot pull the trigger on pump-gun fully as fuel will start overflowing from the filler neck. Will have to fill it up with the trigger 30-50% pulled back and it takes me as long as a truck filling up.

I have rechecked all the air hoses running from the fuel tank and making sure none are clamped against something. Still no luck. Anyone got any idea why this is happening?

From what i recall theres a one way aircheck valve on the breather line, it might be blocked (preventing ventilation of the filler when you pressurise it with fuel)
Is your charcoal canister line blocked off? (not as critical but could cause another restriction) :-k

Unfortunately I cant make it as I will be working. I am hoping to make it to the Last Blast Superkhana on December 18th but will keep you posted if anyone wants to come down.

Butters, how did you go with getting -5 degrees camber?

Rear is sorted, I've got my 2 sets of 3 degree plates that have been custom made, they're done. We installed them on the car last Wednesday while i was at my engineer/machinist's workshop picking up parts for work and well as I expected with the standard rims there's just not enough clearance, rubbing everywhere, hitting things. They won't be going on until i get my new rims on the car which now won't be a while away. Money's been reassigned from the modding for a bit.

For the front camber, with 2 sets of bolts, I'm still not getting as much camber as I want. So I'll be getting some new bolts made up allowing for more angle, and then getting the control arm and lower suspension mounts modified to suit.

Hi Everyone!

I have finally returned from my exile in the North West.

Firstly, I have an anouncement: My car is officially fixed, alignment is done and I am champing at the bit and ready to go CRUISING! 8) Here is the full story for those of you at home watching who missed the 'fun': http://www.redlinegti.com/forum/viewtop ... =7&t=48377

I've nothing more to add that hasn't been said previously. Cruise maps are all printed out and reminder PM's with start times, my number and location will be sent out either today or tomorrow when I can be arsed. :)

The weather forecast doesn't look too bad either! Sunday: Mostly sunny. Min 18 Max 31

Steve, I have a spare head sitting here with around 120,000 kms on it if you need it for Rayvens car... I'm sure we can work out an 'arrangement' if need be (?) Remember; It is a cruise, not a race... the more GTi's we have, the sexier we will look!

Cheers,

Awesome run, got both cars there, and even got mine running on all 4 cylinders (thanks for the spot dude) ignition lead had dislodged #-o
Good turnout, nice to see the old guard bring their tiys (cheers hertz and sk4wd)
Butters: i never knew a new swift (not sport) could run with the gtis, youre a good driver mate.
All my pics are on the iphone, so hopefully others will upload shots.
This was my son's 2nd cruise, and he only fell asleep towards the end.
Was a damn hot day in Wa though
Looking foward to the next meet, thanks to all that attended =D>

It gets better... there were actually nine cars plus a visit from Percy as well! Considering how rare the cars are here in WA, this is nothing short of a remarkable turnout! =D>

Great shot Monstazuki! This gives me an idea...

*Adopts Pirate voice*

"Here be a challenge to all other Redliners from the Eastern States (or overseas)..."

"The first of ye to name us Redline
in order of appearance,
Will receive from me a gift Suzuki
from my shed a clearance!"

Have a look at Monstazuki's group shot above, name us correctly with our Redline usernames from left to right and I will send a GTi related present to the first one who sends through the correct answer... no WA members or recent ex-pats are allowed to enter though! Respond only on this thread please and entries close 1st of January 2012.

Hint: Our names are all located in the first post on the first page.

Cheers,

Drew
