It looks like someone had recently been playing with my locks and suddenly the barrels are sticking like something jammed in there and the key won’t slide in like normal. The door comes good with wd40 but the ignition barrel is hard to turn. I have the covers off but can’t see any obvious way to get the barrel out. My suzuki manual does not mention the lock but everything else. Anyone know how a 95 gti ignition barrel comes out? I appreciate any info, my back is totally stuffed and hard to look right under.

From memory there is two security bolts installed which have no means of traction for removal. If you get 1mm cutoff wheel and cut slots in them you may be able to extract them with screwdriver. That's how I did it. Just a suggestion.

Why dont they just call it "Womenapause" instead.

If i have to pull the whole column out that will have to wait until i can get down to undo everything. Thanks for the info guys. I just gave it a good wd40 and blew it out for a while with air for the time being, at least it turns now if i jiggle the key a bit. The key beeper works after i tightened up the screws for the switch. The key is still hard to get in, the grooves in the key don’t want to mesh in. Maybe i need a new key?
