Hey All,

First off, Apologies if this should be located in a different section but there didn't seem to be a fully custom section. I'm planning on trying to put a G13B into a datsun 1200. I've got a mk2/3 swift with full harness etc as a doner car and was planning on using a samurai transmission to set it up as RWD.

here is one someone else started doing http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki ... ngine_Swap

This link has a pretty good list of everything you need to do a swap into a samurai/sierra
http://www.auszookers.com/forum/viewtop ... ec84fc8fd2

for me the biggest issue is going to be the distributor running into the firewall and I was wondering if anyone has used a cam position sensor (something like this? http://www.auszookers.com/forum/viewtop ... t=j20a+cmp) with the original ECU. I know I could go the angle drive or mazda 323 distributor cap route but I want as much clearance as possible. I would rather not cut a new hole for the shifter and have the engine mounted too far forward.

I would like to try and run stock electronics as much as possible, but if there is a simple aftermarket ECU to setup I wouldn't be opposed to it. I have done ZERO engine tuning though.
