For a racing car build.
How easy does all the gti mk2 bits fit into a
Base model shell ( e.g. 2001 3 door 1000cc uk car)
Things like rear suspension and front suspension, steering rack.

Also does the gti share much with a base model swift in terms of arms struts steering etc ?

Chassis between mk2, 3 and 4 89 through 2001 1.3 swifts are all the same except GTi has additional brackets for rear sway bar. Bolt ons such as bumpers, interior and drivetrain are different.
1.0 3 cylinder has different engine mount on cam belt side I believe. Easy to remove from 1.3 and swap using a welder.
Steering is identical but GTi had adjustable column. Racks are the same
Wiring is different for front end as 16 valve is different to 8 valve. Radiator is bigger in GTi
Arms and struts are same dimensions and interchangeable. Though OEM GTi had slightly lower and stiffer springs and dampers.
All will swap over. Front and rear hubs are different as are brakes. Master cylinders are the same.
Search function will tell you the detail as its all been done many many times.

Cam belt side engine mount loccation is the same (use the G13B mounts)
On the gearbox side (under battery) there's blind bits hidden in the rail behind sheet metal, fit the 1.3 mount and then drill to find them (they're already threaded)
I've fitted 1.3L into 1.0L 3 cyl shells Personally
