I very nearly did get metric studs fitted (see 'for sale - 12 x 1.25 extra long studs') but didn't because they were actually a bit TOO long (73mm!) and would have stuck out and looked weird, also these wheels can't have an acorn style nut - so I was pretty much left with this open style anyway, or ...

Yeah well to be fair, the ones that cracked on my white GTi were probably 15 years old and the car hadn't been looked after.
Even the ones you gave me though are pretty rusty - not your fault I'm just pointing out they can rust pretty quickly.

The people who have already answered know more than I do, but when I changed to a pod on my new Swift (which is a pretty darn quiet car) - it definitely became more growly. It was not a placebo because I didn't tell my Dad I'd done it and when he rode in the car he asked if I'd changed the muffler. ...
