Re: 4wd Saloon Parts

Sounds like the car has some bad rust issues? Do you have any pictures of the damage? The sills will be extremely difficult to find (not actually finding them) but getting someone to chop them out of a wreck and then ship them. :|

What size are the hubcaps on the MK1's, 13" or 14" like the Mk2/3? Thanks Standard wheel covers for Mk 1 are 13" Interesting thanks for the info, I think ill start keeping a look out for a MK1 Gti to add to my collection. They were ahead of their time with the hatchback body kit.

I agree with Howsie, address the idle issue first. I suspect its something to do with the vacuum system. Might be a good idea to clean the lines switching valves etc

Not an ignis owner but central locking is generally a standard setup. More likely the fuel sensor that goes into the tank than the gauge.

Try disconnecting the earth wire for the gauge under the dash should make all the gauges goto full, and then reconnect it and see if it unsticks if it is that.

Got aircon? Try Turning it on and see if it fixes the problem.

To the best of my knowledge all Aust delivered 1.6 swifts were TBI whereas parts of Europe and South America got the carby 1.6.

Try some graphite powder in the track and see if it helps at all, otherwise sounds like one of the tracks has moved or bent (slightly). The tracks are screwed into the door and after 10-15 years sometimes become loose. have a look and see if u can see any movement
