do a compression test cold and hot and see the results will speak check for injector leakings? when you checked the plugs does one seemed to be more wet then others?? (fuel) if no obvious results then for the headgasket thing i suggest, to make sure, if you have a coolant pump to pressure the system...

o2 sensor connector (1 wire black connector) on the dohc harness should be near the coolant sensor (between head and firewall on your setup) and for the speed sensor as mentionned above the wire come from instrument cluster to the ECM mk1 dohc are not avaiable in canada and f3 ecm is 1989-1991 swift...

was about to send you a PM regarding this, you need it for unleash the beast mode, without it it will crack the casing from the rear mount to the axle seal i dont have this body mount so i did a steel brace that connect the 2 rear bolts of rear mount (on the transmission) to the 3 bolt mount you use...

bracing is different if you can have mouting brace under the trottle body with it if not not a big concern but dont pull off the engine by the intake :lol: the throttle body is bolt on and hole in the intake is larger then 45 i think they are 50mm, so they are ready for trottle upgrade, pipe for vac...

just borrow some engine compression tester gauge , if the engine is good enough (over 160psi and all 4 are equal) and have no abnormal noises leave it just like this do regulars oil changes
then finish university, get a good job and then throw big $$ in this :lol:

changing final drive will not change speedo since the reading is taken from diff carier after all gear reduction, you can play with the speedo gear or tire size to acheive your goal, but i would say, spend this time/money elsewhere :lol:

.002 is too loose, keep in mind this engine in stock form is designed to rev to 8600 rpm from factory with clearance limit described in shop manual , personnaly had issues with oil pressure at .002, then i bough a new suzuki dohc pump suzuki bearings at .001 and problem was solved if you want to run...

do you have picture of the scrores on the lifter housing?? in the past i have been through that, same expensive quest for same reason (low oil pressure) one thing i know now is to rebuild with oem suzuki color coded main rod bearing for proper clearance what was you plastigauge results on the mains?...

if the valve arent stuck open and hit the piston, rust in the sleeve can block the travel or foreign material in cylinder
recheck with camera or open the engine

standard piston from jdm mk1 seems all flat top, this book was printed 4-1989 and here the diagram for cultus mk1 piston

Speedo drive shouldn't need to be changed... Final drive changes don't change what the speedo reads as the speedo reads from the diff.
