$800 is for the entire pump/filter assembly. It includes a completely new fuel pump, not just a filter. $400 timing belt? is that including fitting? Not too smart and absolutely hopeless product planning on Suzuki's behalf for a car that sells essentially as an econobox. So $800 for the filter + $400 for the timing belt + $200 for the rest of the 100 000km service! Thats $1600 of servicing for a Swift at the 100k mark. WTF :roll: It is bad enoug...

Its been my prescription on the Gti for the past 12 years and at almost 200 000km it has had no problems as such or any at all really 8)

The Gti was a nugget, the one to look for was the Cupra which was not a bad car which and a good buy 2nd hand.
The engine was a VW sourced 2L twincam good for 150hp and also flat to low 16 sec down the 1/4.

The prices range from $320 upward. It is a pretty expensive service for an econocar for whats basically an oil and brake fluid change. I guarantee they will not look twice at the lifters for this service.

The wording is warranty but they are really insurance policies. Look at the fine print on what parts are covered in detail ( engine internals may be covered but not the block etc) and what 'servicing schedule' ( usually time based rather than distance covered i.e 3 months or 10000 km - whatever come...

Easy fix that has worked for every car I have had is to put the car into 1st gear initially and slightly release the clutch, then put it into reverse. :wink:
