not given up guys...just taking a small break while I get my boat done....marc will rebuild the motor and we are reducing the compression ratio....sticking the spare d16 pistons into another block but set the ring gaps properly....probably 11.5:1. we are at least 3 seconds too fast for our time band...

It was 5% rich throughout the range but that an average of the four cylinders so maybe some were overly rich compensating for the lean one. No closed loop correction and wouldn’t work anyway....would need four seperate lambda sensors and controllers.

yep I think i took some off the inside of the top one and milled the hole sideways at the top so the bottom locates and the top and swing in....its quite a bit....if you dont do this you wont get much past .5 degree neg. even with the camber adjusters at the top.....unless you mod your lower control...

haven't said Im going turbo yet....just that im not doing the NA rocket motor again....might just go stock on the gti motor in the donor car and put the cultus manifold on it....and the bits from the other engine to drive the link extreme....and maybe the three tech cams...then run it on our dog box...

and if it was lean on the middle two how the F does that happen....after I changed the surge tank back to a standard tank setup I removed the fuel rail and tested all the injectors which all flowed exactly the same amount...there are no leaks around the inlet manifold...

Sam...something hit the plug...it wont turn over a full revolution. the camshafts are not broken. the piston crown is not white but the plug is. ok I see why you mean....I definitely milled out the holes in the uprights so i could push the upright at an angle into the strut....thats how you get most of the camber...then fine adjustment using the camera plates...if you dont do this you wont get much camber....my plates are at 40 degrees so wh...

yup have a look at my build Neil..I don't know which page though...you have to mill the sides down of the new upright to fit it in the GTI strut....plus you have to mill the holes to allow inward movement of the upright on the struts or you will end up with mostly 0 degrees camber....its not as plug...

yes cheers thats the pad I have the bottom one. running a 250mm disc now and i measured it tonight you would not get more than 5mm extra before hitting the caliber so 260mm would be it. a 276mm sport disc wont first unless caliper mounting adjustments are made. I think i could fit a 280mm disc...but...

thanks guys for the replies. some great info there. hey so the sport uprights are different to the m13 and m15 uprights? I didn't know that. will sport discs fit on the m15 upright with the GTI hub if i re drill them? so I have the m15 upright....with the GTI hub....with the suzuki bearing that fits...

the head on the car has been done with valves and port cleanup...the caps are good and the journals good...the clearance was a little too much and that was addressed by shaving the caps 1 thou.
