Gusgti just ran some crazy time tonight at calder.
using street tyres (dunlop formula R) first run was 14.6@93mph second run 14.2@93mph
clutch started to slip after that run so there was no better time, but a 13 on street tyre is coming.
Would like to also thank kyhole (needs a new clutch BADLY when your ready we will do it), vtm666 (beat a rexy) and michael with his red turbo gti for coming along and also running some impressive times.
unfortunetly michael didnt get to do to many runs as he blew a hole in his gearbox and wasted 2 hours of good track time.....

Excellent work! Good to see someone using the G13B's full all-motor potential. Can't wait to see how much more you can shave off the time.

it was a great night
first time for me on the track and was pretty fun
after thinking about it, i could of went faster if i changed gears earlier and do a burn out that actually smoked abit!!! had bad traction problems
everyone was finishing the race in 4th gear at around 5-6000rpm
i still in 3rd at 7500rpm
Gus was real fast, great job mate!!!

Damn! well done gus!
It ended up being a perfect night for racing last night.
Sorry I didn't end up dragging my sorry arse down to watch you guys, I thought it may have been cancelled because of rain, but it held off.
How did you end up beating a rexy? Thats reserved for red sedans only.

Thanks guys, it wwas a good night for racing, not many people out there at first as everyone thought it would rain. First run got me a 14.6 so i thought sh*t thats good for my first run, then second the 14.2 and then after that my clutch was slipping but i didnt know as i was pushing it in the pits to save fuel etc.. Will order a new clutch this week i think. After that run could only get 14.5's@94mph so my mph got better but times a little slower so even as is there is more potential in it for sure..

NOt sure about you but I still have stock bottom end and heaps more mods i want to do... can only get better projectGTi wrote: congrats on the good time. what was the quickest time of the night? Yeah you should get a good lsd if you dont want probs ky spend the extra so you know its good... we'll do it when you are ready. HoBi wrote: Damn! well done gus! You lazy ass surprised you didnt hear me driving past your joint on the way home, or close to your place anyway! Yeah rexy was slow and a tosser, first driver in it got 15's or soemthing and then they changed drivers so we thought maybe this guy can drive and still got high 14's or something, pity not many people saw my 14.2 though as it was early in the night, and no burnouts this week new tyres stick too well!
Until next time!
