still waiting for $$$ to build up 4 dyno going to go with the chipped ecu from gtaye .to many mods to do for the adaptronics ecu the way i want it to work best.[sensors etc]. so the dyno cost will be right down because of the limited s**t they can do .just want to get it on the road ,test to see how reliable everything is ,especially the cheap e bay ss exhaust mani . 8-[

i know there would be a lot of gti heads not liking the after market front bumpers [original is always best] and i was going to go back to original bumper during the turbo build but it was much easier after i got all the intercooler etc on to stick with the somewhat ugly overwhelming front bumper. but lets face it the original wasn't designed for a intercooler. any hows I'm still trying to move focus from the eyesore[ bumper] chuck on a original s barge on the bonnet

does anybody use the fuel filter with the banjo fittings ? had problems with aftermarket fuel filters hoses rubbing together ,.hanging down ,zip ties etc. so went to get a original fuel filter to fit in original f /f bracket tried repco ,they sold me what was meant to be original which takes banjo fittings .any way looked in the work shop manual and it shows a push on hose nozzle type . if you do go with these filters the banjo the bolts are m12 /1.25 pitch .went through 3 orders on e bay till i got it right #-o m12 /1mm pitch #-o m12 /1.5pitch #-o highly recommend these filters for positioning the hoses in the right direction and ease of service.

I quite like that front bumper, it's just the little grill opening that looks odd for me. The angle of the lower edge looks funny.
Maybe its because my Mk1 bumper is massive :D

it should be more look more aggressive [mean] looking not smile openings :D :D but when i pick it it was the only one that had the fog lights holes and wasn't over the top .seen one in that west aust, that looked good [mild ] but didn't make no more [lost the mould] . the original with a lip i think looks good best The fit on the aftermarket bumper is shiit ,warped, line up wasn't good and had to place a plate in the middle to flatten it out the large bowing .any way im sticking with it till a break it.

finally finished clean and painted, fitted the tank with high pressure fuel pump and new filter and hoses . clean out with a rust converter ,not much surface rust inside . wired up a plug external plug so its easy to pull the tank next time also checked to see if fuel sender and pump is working before fitting .placed tank upside down and checked fuel gauge is operating correctly

spent 3 days making the [over the top ]rubber mounted bracket to hold the tail pipe.used the existing mount holes which holds the original rubber hangers . i used toyoto hilux 4wd rubber mounts. all the years I've been getting exhausts fitted they never put effort in lining up slot in the bumper where the
tail pipe goes, so now i give them no choice .getting a small section of pipe done [from the tank small bump over sway bar to the tail pipe] by the experts. thinking doing most of exhaust in ss my self saved me a few $$$

Haha Mine sounds like a worked bike at idle as it has a slight lump to the idle, thanks to the cams I run, usually a good exhaust will give a nice burble on a GTi though

drove down to the dyno [under boost] 1st run showed it rich below boost and then leaned out to much ,shut it down early 7500rpm . leaned it to run under a 6000rpm safe limit and without fouling plugs. ended up with a pathetic [laughable] 95.5kw @ 7000rpm . due to the unprogramable turbo chipped ecu it was a cheap [$150] visit .i will be running the adaptronic e420c with the mods, at the next dyno visit. the stock injectors need to be replaced to get it to run rich for boost. around 550cc injectors was suggested by dyno man . check out the the forum for a what other members are using , noticed a lot of rx7 ,evo etc 550cc injectors but no specific model no.s .could someone please help me with a link on eBay for a ,no head fuk, plug in ,right fit ,550cc injectors .ps as i am not greedy for over the top power, 150kw my aim ,I'm thinking 550cc should be ok

That's on par with what others get from a low boost setup using a chipped ECU. Not bad considering that's a 70% power gain over a bog stock GTi, which makes about 56-58kw ATW. Base fuel pressure usually needs to be bumped up to prevent leaning out with that setup.
