The euro swift does not have two running lights. The inner one is a fog light. So it has two rear fog lights. You need to do some electronic adjustments to get it working like you want it to work. I have done this in the past and made a tutorial (in dutch). Will try to find the pictures.

Ok found them. Used diodes are P1000. Diodes from the 4NXXX series are also ok. This conversion will give you the double rear lights like the mk3 gti. When fog light is turned on everything acts like original mk4. Hope the pictures tell you enough.

Your car looks great!

Thanks, and yes, I have it painted up, just need to drill the holes and install it on. Hesitant at the moment, since the rear glass will be getting swapped out for the wiper version.

Interesting. Thanks Robin for the info and pics. Something I'll look into.

The newly painted rear looks nice but where are you going to put the licence plate?

Plate will go in the center indention of the lower bumper in between the red fog and white reverse lamps. The plate will be slightly angled back by using a JDM style bracket.

For those who have adapted in the Euro GS Swift tail lights, I'm trying to find out if the harnesses are similar to the one pictured below. The Metro and Swift GTi both have this harness that goes through a grommet in the body and has a connector to tie into the car's main harness. Both use the same plug, making them 'plug and play'. I'm hoping the Euro Swift uses the same, so I can source the short harnesses and have a clean install without splices. I know the Euro units use the circuit board instead of individual light sockets, but not sure if they have connectors just inside the cab wall. Thanks in advance for any info.

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to ensure there wasn't a connector that others weren't aware of.

robin_swiftsensation do you happen to have a source/part numbers for the diodes and lamp socket used? I want to start gathering the necessary parts to be ready to do the mod when I get home. Thanks in advance.

Diode types are mentioned in my earlier post. The lamp socket is one from a mk2/3 rear light. I just cut away all the plastic around it.
