I have a Mk3 GTi road car where the previous owner has fitted a "go faster" steering wheel. I want to put it back to original and I know where I can get a tidy mk2 GTi steering wheel but I haven't seen an original mk3 wheel to know whether they're the same. Can anyone tell me whether they're the same between a mk2 and 3?

From what I know they are different in their style but I'd doubt much else. Generally the Mk2 wheel is the more sort after as there were less made :)

They are similar but with an important difference. MK2 has indicator cancelling pins on the back. Stick that on a MK3 and you'll destroy the combination switch the first time you turn the wheel. As for which is more sought after, that's a matter of taste. :P

Thanks for the feedback. I guess nothing stops me changing the combination switch as well as it's a complete column that's available. Sounds like I need to compare the two and see what would work.
