Hi everyone.
I looked through the forum, but did not find my answer - I am looking for a shorter final drive for my MK2 AWD Swift. I have a 1.6 4×4 gearbox (just now went out of the car due to 2nd gear out of order) and a couple 1.3 4×4 gearabox plus one 1,3 4×4 justy gearbox (I assume it is identical to swifts 1,3 4×4 gearboxes). yeah and some 1,6 2WD I can use to repair my 1,6 AWD, but that is my last option now.

I do not want a 3000EUR (+VAT) dog kit (e.g. SQS from Czech Republic, where I come from anyway) and did not find any shop, who would be willing to machine the final drive for stock gears. I dont want to go full mental. yet.

Cultus FD would be nice, bot I have not seen one (cultus) in central Europe yet.

Any ideas? I am looking for a ratio as close as possible to 5.0 (the stock 1,6 AWD is ridiculously long on 195/50 R15 tires)

If I decide to go to next gen. swift (2005-2007) 1,5 or 1,6 gearboxes (if I can get my hand on one) what can I use for my AWD? shafts with gears? clutch? diff? the input shaft is the same? bearings have same outer diameter -> will fit in my AWD case? how about FD? will bolt to AWD diff? or somehow combine 1,6 shaft secondary with new swift gears? too many questions, I know :-)

thanks in advance for any info
Lukas

Cultus Gti 4x4 final is standard at 4.4xx. To go lower will be aftermarket.

Go to 13" wheels. This will lower your car as well.

Why dont they just call it "Womenapause" instead.

a 4WD wont fit most of 14" wheels due to different position of the steering without spacers. i have some 13" and some 14" wheels that i am running now, but i will need to switch to 15" soon to upgrade brakes...

I have a 4.235 final drive for 4wd box, if you also changed to the m16 swift sport gearset it would make for much nicer(closer and shorter) ratios.I also have several m16 sport boxes which I could strip gearsets out of if your interested, pm me for details.
