As Zedd mentioned

"How to tune and modify engine management systems" by Jeff Hartman is a really good book

The book

Engine Management: Advanced Tuning by Greg Banish

Is a reasonable follow on from the previous mentioned book (although not related in any way it seems to be a logical follow on) with a few good tips and thoughts and introduces some of the more complex issues around tuning. Not as good as Hartman's

Street Turbocharging by Mark Warner

Good accessible book on the basics of a turbo system. Covers basics and explains how things work (including reading compressor maps).

well thanks, thats a whole heap of material to digest but for me being an avid DIY enthusiast, thats just a sacrifice ill have to make.
the book, 'Maximum boost by Corcky Bell' is a very good book. often times reffered to by other automotive books, its what i am presently reading and it does simplify and explain with pictures alot of things.

thanks 4 the autospeed links, i read that site like every morning b4 i start work. very good, thanks again.

It only costs about $10 a year for a URL.

Autospeed have redeveloped their web site - and changed the domain name. I've been through the links and pointed all articles to the new domain. If you see broken Autospeed links, or a link doesn't point at the correct article, let me know and I'll fix it. Articles do get updated, rewritten and republished from time to time. When I find an updated version of one of the articles, I'll update the link to point to the newer version.

Added - Ultimate DIY Automotive Modification Tool-Kit - 7 part Series
