Hi there. first post.
Glenn. My son and i have an 89 gti for the track. cage etc. Suspension hideous. Been talking to dattman about sorting that. Going to spend a minimum on this machine to get it better as only want to find 6 to 7 secs out of it. one thing i need is a bigger rear sway bar. Anyone tell me who currently makes these? whiteline says discontinued. people say not to go to suzukird. anyone else? cheers also is 7/8 the right size.

Hi Glenn

Have you measured what size bar you have in there atm? I think an 89 should have a 16mm bar, the later mk3 and sedans have an 18mm bar which is what I run, $16 from pick a part when they have stock 8)

Try a brand called OMP, they produced sway bars and strut braces for the GTi. No idea if they are still being produced or not though.

Or you can get a whiteline 20mm one when they come up. Massive fan of mine :)
