Hey guys, looking for a gearbox solution for a 300hp GTi being prepared for circuit racing. Any advice will be appreciated, thanks.

Hi mate, your best bet is to run the same style box that mostof us with that kind of power run. It is the 1600AWD casing, converted to fwd, using Swift Sport internals and the 1.5 CWP to bring the ratios back to 4.1. If you have a search you can find all the details for it inthe technical FAQ :)

P.S. we'd love to see this 300hp beast too ;)

Not sure there's many 4wd boxes on the Islands, the g16fwd cable shift box is lighter and easier to source, the J18 Baleno box should also be the same, there's a ton of info on the large frame box conversion, then you have the choice of using the new m16 swift sport closer ratio's or the very affordable M factory close ratio gearset.

If you've got money to burn then the Bacci sequential box is very nice

Thanks guys, I'll look into this option. The build is now in progress, so no pics yet. Will prob get 250hp but would like a gearbox that can withstand higher power ratings for future development.

Sequential sounds nice except for the price
