I have a broblame with the engine on startup it doesn't like to start it takes a solid minute of cranking to start her and it sounds like a tractor I have to rev the engine to keep it alive but once it is warm it is amazing but if you perk at the shops for to long and I cools down it won't want to start any ideas of what it could be ???

When you say the engine is warm, you mean after 5 minutes of driving to the point the whole system is up to normal operation temp or after 30 seconds of reving the engine??
Just by reading the first thing i would be checking is fuel pressure on start up and after parking the car. Possibly a fuel pump check valve isn't seating correctly causing the fuel in the rail to bleed back to the tank.

I'm putting my money on a faulty 'ECT sensor' and/ or it's wiring.

Try a search on this forum using those key words.

Have you checked for error codes (if you are using a standard ECU)?

Cheers,

Drew

I have a similar problem but it is only after I have parked it after 10 mins driving. I reason that it is indeed a check valve. Cold mornings it is fine as the csv actually works (amazing huh?) and richens the mixture, its a great throbbing cock in summer for the same reason, no fith injector on 25 degree mornings. But after I finish work its like a dog for a few mins. Not cold enough for the csv to kick in and the fuel has bled back into the tank = dog. after about 2 minutes I stop hearing the air traveling through the lines and it drives fine.

pumps are resonably cheap, irrespective of any other problems it cant hurt to replace one on a 15+ year old car. do the filter at the same time.

people put their crap upgrades here.
Didn't put a pod filter in. Didn't put in a second battery. Didn't install a s**t body kit.
Cleaned some stuff, replaced tired bushes and worn interior parts.
19 years old and lucky to still be serviceable.
