Short story is that you need a G13BB gearbox and a whole mess of custom fabrication to get the engine laying over far enough to fit under the seats.

Hmmm. A standard engine in a bigger heavier automobile, is it worth it?.

An 80's Carry van is smaller and lighter than a GTi. A standard G13B has well over double the power output of the standard F10A so I'd say it is a valid conversion.

Any engine conversion will be a lot of work in an old Carry van. The angle of the motor is the greatest hurdle.
