Hi guys,

Newly posting member, been lurking for a year since buying my GTI.

This is my GTI.

It was previously owned by a user from here called Monza, then passed through a few hands and wound up with me.

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=53273

When I bought it there was a leaking T25 strapped to it, an exhaust and intercooler full of oil, and a mystery leak from under the motor.

After it being left under my house for almost a year I've got it cleaned up.

Took it into NA Autosport and Engineering and they have sorted it all out.

It now has a second hand T28, a new gearset fitted (There's the mystery leak sorted) and a retune of the Haltech done.

Now I need to get ZC31s calipers, some new DBA rotors and Forza pads, some tires and a bit of seat time!

First time with a fast hatch so it's a nice change, not sure if I'll wind up liking it more than my Subaru or not though.

Looks like a great start! Nice work. Keen to see how this progresses!

So the car got it's first outing at the dirt track yesterday, heaps of fun.

Put some AD08R on and they make a massive difference to the car.

Found a few things to replace though.

The IACV which has failed, need tougher shocks/springs, and need a smoother clutch.

Button clutch life is not the life for me (Or for other people who drive it, someone did a couple of bad downshifts without rev matching and I thought I was going to be up for ANOTHER gearbox), so I've got a quote from Clutch Industries for something which should hold the power and drive nicely.

If it's still the same clutch as in the FS thread, it looks like one of Dave's clutches already?
They take a bit of getting used to but I have never had a problem with them and not broken any boxes due to them.

Yeah I guess it does have one of Dave's clutches.
The guy who was driving just tried shoving it into 3rd after it had dropped all engine rpm so it slammed back up with a bit of noise and then did the same thing with second to a loud bang.
Quickly sorted his driving style out and the rest of the drive was smooth.
I'd dislike driving with it every day, at the track it's ok.
