So since the AWD is a biatch isnt running and and wont carry the new baby seat and I cant use the ute to move the family I needed a car to transport the baby home from hospital and around until its time to buy a larger sedan.

A 400 dollar swift with 3 months rego and full tank of fuel I cant go wrong.
But I cant help myself.
So some hyundai 15 inch wheels bolted on tonight 50 bucks spent with tyres...big 185/65-15

over the next few weeks I'll install GTi brakes, lowered springs and some smaller tyres, Gti driveshafts as these ones knock a bit and I have them, cluster, seats, rear spolier, 24mm front sway bar and some stereo stuff like headunit, amp and speakers to make it a 345 dollar car!!! all stuff I have lying around

Nice mate sounds like a winner, pity it's not already a G13B though. Enjoy it but don't let it get in the way of getting that AWD car done

I like the 8 valve. License protection unlike the ute and the AWD is becoming!
I just cant drive an unmodified car. Its a disease I tell ya!

I hope that you didn't waste any money putting it into the dog wash in the background
...interesting choice of location for the pic!

Sounds like you found a real bargain with this one - don't change the appearance too much or it will also become a magnet for the licence confiscators 8)

The engine is willing but it's strength is lacking :P should be a nice cheap run about, I borrowed one a while back for a few weeks and it did the trick but I missed the G13B. Hope it saves your licence long enough to keep the AWD on track

No wasting money washing it...its winter free water falls from the sky! went there to get free air in the tyres and free lights to photograph it. couldn't wait till daytime!.
Added an old momo steering wheel, that I had lying around this morning...had to buy a washer to fit between the hub and column bolt. cost me 19 cents at bunnings. Could have got it cheaper of Ebay but had to wait for a month from china.

Most important question is:

What colour is that?

Cheers,

Fail...I spent money!
20 bucks to be precise
Thought it wise to locate the rims on the hubs properly so some hubcentric rings off ebay arrived in the post, almost too shiny to use

Amazing transformation - love the six bucks worth =D>
but there also looks to have been quite a bit of the elbow grease as part of the change.
Don't forget to tell the registration people that you have changed the colour or the ever-watchful could have a field day when they are surveying the traffic for unregistered cars :)

My bad
The top pic made it look like it was brown! Perhaps the free lighting didn't really do it any favours, eh?
The wheels look pretty good = amazing how they have managed to change the colour to red :!:
A bit of fun - good on you for keeping it inexpensive and enjoyable along the way

all good mate, Id like shiny body paint for 6 bucks...but alas no!
So last night,-45mm in 38 minutes from opening the garage door to starting it to test drive, I kid you not. Experience pays off...so do air tools and space

As with any 38 minute modification it wasn't really planned out well.
The ride is typical low swift choppy and the old standard shock absorbers just cant control the body over stiff springs leading to interesting idiosyncrasies over anything but smooth blacktop.
Looks better though.
The front arches have now been mullered by catching the guard so hammer time is coming.

Oh and I forgot how heavy the steering on a low wide wheeled swift was without power steering as the AWD PS is so light! And im getting old

OK the disks are new, but 40 per side doesn't count as it's lunch for a day or two. Ive also ordered new bushes for the black one and the 5000, km old ones from there will go in this red one so that also doesn't count as spend on this.
However Some clever chump dropped a load of steel of the back of their trailer about 10 cars up, and we all hit it! It appears I'm the only one to suffer damage with a split in two tyres, strangely only the rears...fortunately they were off the front of the black one and were about half a mill off the wear indicator on the inside...the outside edges were like new typically!
