There is always potential for things to go south on the dyno but id like to believe that if everything has been done properly and the car has been adequately set up to be pushed to its limits then everything will be fine....and needless to say looking at the quality of workmanship, attention to detail and quality of hardware that has gone into this build, it will be. At the end of the day its all machinery...it will/should do what it was designed and built for.

Obviously a lot of the responsibility is in the hands of the tuner and depends on there skills but JEM are pretty well renowned and switched on crew. Sucks ill be up north QLD still at work as i was going to say id be keen to come and see the car in the flesh.

Best of luck for you, not long now.

Thanks Alexei,
So the car has been down there since the 30th, they only had 4 days before Easter to work on it so not a great deal got done as they had last week off..
I received this pic from Justin (wiring bloke) today as he has finished the engine loom and is moving onto the dash loom.. Also spoke with JEM and if all goes well with the wiring he should have it tuned by Wednesday next week!! Fingers crossed!!

Good one Lawry... There is no hatch attack on this year, is there?

Also Mark, I'll be picking it up mid week. I'll drop in if you are home then..

To have a thread is one thing, it actually happening is another..
I will be there with bells on if it happens!! Zubbo seems to be fairly occupied with his build of late and there hasn't been too much talk of it??

Thanks Guys!!

Well i thought i better update on the tune and all that..

Everything went pretty, well (better than i was expecting), i was kept updated at all times which i liked from a shop that was 3hr from home, Adam from JEM and Justin from Pro wire are very professional in the way they do their business!

I am stoked with the quality of the wiring!!

The car didn't go without a few small problems though, When i dropped it off, Adam quizzed me on the way i had ran my oil lines from the block into the filter, then cooler and so on, he said he i may have put them on the wrong way (oil feeding into middle of filter instead of vice versa), i remember when i was running them doing a fair bit of research and triple checking that i had them on the right way, but i could have been wrong andi wasn't going to pull everything apart there and then to double check, so i left that in his hands....
Turns out in the end i was right in the first place!! (but having someone else check your work is definitely re assuring!)

Next problem was the idle!!
After buying and making everything to suit the R32 GTR throttle bodies i had started to do a bit of research on cleaning and maintenance of the throttles, from factory they come with a weird sealant on the bores of the throttle blocks to help the plates seal 100%. It wasn't until after i had cleaned all the black gunk crap out of the bores i realised what i had done (cleaned the sealant out)...
I gave the car to them knowing full well it may have idling problems and i made them aware of that..
But when they told me it was idling at 3000rpm and they couldn't fix it i got worried, i told them i was happy to pick the car up un tuned and fix the problem. I received a phone call later that day off Adam, he said that he pulled the intake apart and fixed the idle, later explaining that he undone the screws that hold the butterflies in the shaft and centralised the butterflies in the bore better (they are actually quite bad from factory!!!) getting the idle down to 1500 which he said he was happy with to continue the tune..

3rd problem was the wheel alignment, which wasn't a big deal but it had to have a rough one done by eye to get it on the dyno as it had bad toe in when i took it down there..

I still have a decent to do list:
-Fit second stronger return spring
-Re seal throttle bores with dry moly coat
-Sort out my race tech dash (configure CAN inputs)
-Maybe replace the thermostat
-FIT MUFFLER SOMEWHERE!!
-Roll cage and harness

Im in the midst of building a vertical style bender to make the roll cage with as i don't have enough room for a JD2 ratchet type one anymore, ive received the 1 3/4" die and am getting the side plates cut out as i write this and also spent most of today at work machining bushes and pins for it

A few pics for your enjoyment because im talking to much smack..

Couple of pics.. Back is bored out to sit over the throttles. Inside is slotted to suit GTR shaft.
