Last one for the M series motor apparently as they have stopped making the turbo kits they sold these with...

How come you needed to relocate the filter?

nice build mate looking like it's coming along

I'm just wondering why you're going with e85 while staying NA? I thought it was more useful in a turbo application? not sure if you watch mightcarmods but this was discussed in their video today

Since he is building the car from scratch I'm sure he has bumped up the compression which will get more gains from e85. E85 allows you to run up and over 14:1 compression with a lot more timing.

Great video I agree with them regarding NA & compression

We run 14.8 : 1 compression with E85 Another major benefit of E85 when you are running high compression is the motor runs cooler We have 550cc injectors You use heaps more fuel with the E85

Moved the oil filter because when i make my headers it will just be a pain in the ass to change, now i can have it in a convenient spot and also fit an oil cooler..

jezza: triddy has hit the nail on the head, plan is for fairly high compression when i open the motor!

A little progress in the 1 day I got to work on it this week.. Went through the fuel system again and fitted new O-rings to all fittings and made sure everything was in its final position before tightening the fittings and crushing the olive onto the tube..
Fitted RT2, and some momentary switches to my dash.. Still waiting on some plugs to finish behind the dash wiring, and fitted the relocation block to the engine, just have to get an oil filter so I can mount the other piece and fit an oil cooler

Also ordered some deatschwerks 565cc injectors for it, awaiting arrival..

Haven't done a great deal over the last 2 weeks.. Due to work and World Time Attack..

Received my plugs to finish the dash wiring and my exhaust flange from the water cutters.
Fitted oil relocation bits and ordered oil cooler/fittings
Ordered a works fuel rail..

Should get some progress over the weekend on wiring and my headers (fingers crossed)

Decided id give building my headers a go.. ive built a few exhaust systems but never taken on a set of headers before..

To tell you the truth I had no idea where to start even.. Bit of brainstorming and i decided on mounting the collector in its final position and go from there

I was aiming for 31" primary's so I had a starting point on how far I could come out from the head etc. Once I knocked the first primary up I was on a roll

A little more progress today, knocked up a mount to fit my oil cooler, I'm still yet to cut the plate behind it so the air can flow through....

Had to machine the hex on a speed flow fitting for the oil filter adaptor plate as they were too close together (probably designed around a different brand of fitting)

Then had a tap arrive 1/16" NPT to tap the holes in my throttle adaptor plate for a vacuum source (from there to a vacuum rail, then to MAP) then re assembled everything.

Also removed the water pipe at the back of the engine and cut off the hard pipe for the heater hose so I could just run a single piece of hose between the 2 outlets as I have no need for a heater anymore.

And last but not least ordered an exhaust gasket...
