Little bit of an update. :-P
Been shopping.

Getting a mk1 gti.
Brought 2 swift sedan cable gearboxes.
On the hunt for 2 swift sport gearboxes for the internals.
Polyurethane engine and gearbox mounts are getting made.

Engine is being researched developed.
Cut up the old g16a block to inspect how much we can bore and sleeve the new block.

Yer then it would look like mine and zuboo's car's!

Anyway you really need to get on with these builds. There always at top of build sec but there's never anything new on them!

You should discuss ideas and thoughts in technical section.

Paid for this baby ages ago.
Decided to finally courier it to myself.
Right is the baleno box.
The other is the 1600 cable shift box.

Very similar but the cable box is a lot bigger.
Exactly the same bolt pattern.
The only difference is the splines are bigger on the cvs and pinion.

Now time to save up for a swift sport box for the internals.
Would also be nice if I can get a modena LSD suit it.

The cable box also has a recessed area for the cv. The baleno one is flat.

Don't bother with the swift sport gearset, go straight to the M factory gearset, much better ratio's
http://www.teammfactory.com/close-ratio-gears_Suzuki
you'll just need to calculate whether you need a 4.1 or 4.4 final drive to compliment it.

I am now the MFactory authorized Dealer for Australia,
MFactory also have a helical lsd to suit the large frame gearbox for just under $1000 landed here(I have one in stock atm if you want to have a look at it) and they also do a 4.7 cwp to suit same box.
If anyone is chasing gearsets, lsds or cwp from Mfactory Then give me a call first and by combining freight and duties I can save you a fair bit.

Thanks Dave and dattman.
I will be in contact with you Dave.

Now that baby # 3 is born my wife has got a sniff of racing again and is super keen to get it going.

So the noodle grenade is getting more attention now. This engine will be a sacrifice for future development.

It will have a basic setup to see how far she can go before it pops.

Stock crank.Stock rods.d16 pistons. 14-1 comp.
800c tighe cams. New developed GSXR1000 quad setup.
On e85.

But saying that my engine builder and I believe it will still stand the test of time. :-)
Here goes nothing!!

how much difference will that make on your steering? I realize it will be firmer but how will it effect lock to lock distance? Will it slow you down more for tight cornering than what power steer would or do you think it shouldn't make that much of a difference?

It will only make turning a little stiff. Nothing else.
Power steering is only really an aid to lighten the steering up.
It's a track car so at high speeds it won't be noticeable.

Ok cool I was curious as with my daihatsu Im trying to put power steering in (as well as different rack and a whole lot of other stuff) as lock to lock is way too far apart so I was curious that if by taking your's off (especially since I dont know Baleno's) may make it far worse on the track for cornering than you want. I spose worst case scenario is you end up with pop eye arms lmao.

1600 swift sedan cable shift setup.
Quite an easy conversion on the baleno.
Direct fit to block and cable shifter fits with no need to modify.

I by no means at all an expert but why would you want to increase the capacity to 1700cc.

Under1600 is a very competitive class. When you go to 1700cc you will be racung Uunder 2000 and then there is Honda's and Nissans to race.

IMO I think having a 1600cc car is where its at!

For fun!! :-)

This is my wife's racecar.
We only race locally for the enjoyment , not to be competitive. Where we race the u1600 times are close if not faster than the u2000. So there is no real disadvantage.

New Quad throttles are almost complete.
Stacks and filters on order.
Was thinking of Getting the quads acid dipped and anodised yellow gold along with a set of yellow gold cam gears too.
