Firstly i would like to introduce myself:-)

My name is Sam im from the uk, & I lives in the cuntry!

I thought its about time I shared my Gti with everyone & start a thread for my Justy/Gti. Ive been lurking on this site for a good few years, Reading posts & dreaming of the day I get my car to where I want. Its taken the best part of 6 years to get the car to where it is & a lot of blood sweat & tears has gone into it!lol

It was about 4-5 years ago I was looking into turbo charging my car, I stumbled across one of Andys turbo chips on ebay & called him to find out a little more. Andy was in the uk at the time & told me he was in Bristol With a guy that had a turbo swift! :D I live pretty close so asked if I could come see the car. So anyway I ended up being introduced to a guy called John (AKA john49) some of you may Know of his work? He has built a few Gti's including squiffswift supercharged/turbo swift. So anyway weve ended up becoming good friends over the past few years & are in the process of building two AWD gti's. Johns car (AKA Super Todd) 8) Is something else & hopefully you will all have the pleasure of seeing soon :D

So around 3 years ago I had a normal FWD swift that was turbo charged. John went about and done the fabrication needed, for a year or so i drove the car at low boost (10psi) was about 160ish Whp.

The engine had been re-built using JE Pistons, new water/oil pump etc... same spec as squiffswift

I had half decent management to look after things, this was an omex 600 ecu. We spoke to omex & asked who they recommended to wire the car? as omex are base locally. They sent us to a place called mech repair who as you can see from the pics were a bunch of cowboys trying to pull a fast one! they were charging £45 per hr & a total of 21 hours + parts! the bill came too just over £1200 & they didnt even have the dash working no lights etc.... so I protested the bill & work quality & ended up just paying for parts which I was also quite reluctant to do as there was so much wrong with what they had done.

Anway way heres a load of pics of the build in a random order!

What model MG did the calipers come from?

Hey pictureshowman the calipers were off a MG TF 160, discs were 310mm or something had to run 16" wheels. Really good brakes just 16's are a bit to big

Then the time came to start pulling the car apart prepping it for a cage! i originally brought the OMP cage but decided it wasnt what I was looking for & after speaking to a few people I decided to use a guy called Zane @zannetec He builds american hot rods/Drag cars. Jap cars are not really his cup of tea, & hes normally fully booked all year round but I managed to find a slot with him got the car ready & off it went :)

prep for paint, plan was to spray the inside of the car first, then mask up & get the rest of the car in etch primer then seam seal the car up. Followed by white primer then under seal the whole car before it was sparyed :D

Well it seems that the UK brothers do a better job at building cars than the Australians, no stupid kits or LED brake lights to be seen.
