It's not that unusual a problem I hear, it was suggested that's the reason mine were welded on (badly aligned) by someone in its past.
If you do go that route to fix it make sure you get the hinge well aligned, my rubbers and door frame have taken a beating from the need to slam the doors to get them closed and there is too much gap for the seals on the drivers door so you have to keep the window slightly down to stop the whistling sound through the gap. The next big job on mine......
I was also told there are three 'skins' inside that pillar if you are considering a cut and weld replacement which can make it a challenging job.
If you want some pics of how not to do it I'll PM you some from mine.

Nice score on the 'new' cluster though.

Mate!
did exactly the same window on ours earlier this year with the ride-on. (march I think)
major pain in the a** getting all the little shards out even with the vac.
gotta love the tint film right about then........
(and the bumper too.... )

Got it back together and won't start no compression, so going to recheck crank and cams angles and retry

As it turned out we set the cams to I and E but still wouldn't start
so we just looked at Number 1 let intake on top and rotated Exhaust 180 degrees so cam lobe outside toward exhaust, then she fired first go, then did same to dizzy and put leads in right spot
now goes just fine
