If you wanted to use quality parts you should have gone down the tried and tested Koni/matched spring setup.....instead of using a second hand set of arguably the worst coilovers on the market

i dare to be differnt and dont care what anybody thinks.
farrk at least try new things.

mate i give you 10 points for trying to fit new swift coilovers to an old swift. maybe thay wont be as good as other setups but hay thay were cheap and there going to be alot beter then the 20 year old springs and shocks.

can i hi jack this for a minute carnt you fit coilovers to a gti front and rear is so what car / where do you get them from i know you have to strengthen the rear shock tower.

the rears have to be custom made there is no off the shelf items but fronts can be bought i contacted the guy and asked if he had the rears so wel wait and see.

I beg to differ actually. G4 coilovers are not a lot better than much. They are just a little bit better than bubonic plague. THEN, he's dodgily fitting them to the wrong car. So in that case, I'll take the bubonic plague thanks.

Also:

"Mate, I give you 10 points for trying to fit new Swift coilovers to an old Swift. Maybe they won't be as good as other setups but hey they were cheap and they're going to be a lot better than the 20 year old springs and shocks."

11.5 to 1 it wont be going in with that compression
but it can be bored out to a 1.9 im going to go 1.7 for strength and putting rods and pisons and making it a closed deck.

The Swift Sport M16A is 11.1:1, and as far as I am aware it's the highest compression M16A available. :? You mean 11.1?

Might be the lack of VVT that made the liana power output lower, need to dig up a Liana brochure for a solid reference.

Did that M16A have cable throttle?

im not a 100% sure if it did have a throttle cable but that doesnt matter does it? i was going to make a new plenum and run off a aftermarket ecu..

Just interested as that throttle may be an option for people wanting to use the Swift Sport engine and cable throttle.

Anyway.. back to the build ;)

Not sure if you're interested but there's a white MK3 GLX sedan for sale in Canberra.
Has full electrics, power steering and aircon. Would be great to make your sedan pimp deluxe!

I reckon you could snake it for $1500 cash.

It'll just tick over to 00000 after it hits 99999. So it's probably already gone round twice
