Got some work done on the Capp this w/end, thought i would try my hands on some fibreglass repair, Iv'e never tried before, as the front bar was in need of some TLC, and i was quiet impressed at how good its turning out. All i have to do now is fill in the cracks with some fibreglass filler, sand it all back smooth and prep for paintwork. Here are some pics...

Fibreglassing for me seemed like a piece of cake, all i did was read up on the net on how to do it and handy tips, bought a repair kit and dived in head-first. I'd try anything once...

I thought why spend $500+ dollars on a new bar when i can fix the one i have for under $200. It isn't hard by any means, just takes patience and a eye for detail.

While i was waiting for the fibreglass to dry, i thought i might play around with the trim colour in the Capp. For those that saw my EVO, its the same colour, Goldrush Metallic. The steering wheel is still drying...

Yeah, theres some dodgy work round the whole car, the rear is gonna take the most time, the front end took 10 mins to straighten cos it was bent also, methinks the seller forgot to tell me bout the rear end damage, but because its so low, couldnt get in under there to have a look.

The trim used to be woodgrain, i didn't really like it, but i had the idea of maybe wrapping it in carbon vinyl, but i think the colour i used is fantastic, i just sprayed one piece and liked it alot so continued to almost every removable piece of trim i could find, i wanted to colour the fan controls but it wouldnt come out, the wiring attached wasn't kind.

More pics of the build-up are in my Gallery

The new sprayed interior colour looks great, much better than the woodgrain style which just doesn't cut the cheese with the Cappa.

Yep, 12K Redline, although fuel cut kicks in about 9200, so she wont last too long above that, but you dont get to spend too much time above 4500 as it goes past soo damn quick.

Poor thing looks like it has had a hard knock life. :(

Good to see you're giving it some well-earned TLC though. I look forward to seeing the final result. 8)

I like it. 8)
8500 to 12000 RPM in the red!
This is the biggest redline zone I have ever seen. =P~

My Old Alfa went from 5800 to 8000 RPM in the red and I thought that was excessive.

Assuming the cappa could rev past it's factory 9200 RPM rev limit via a chip or ECU swap what are those motors able to rev to safely?

Cheers,
Damian

With an Aftermarket management system in place and maybe some uprated valve springs for extra insurance, could feasibly see 12k on a daily basis, why you'd need to take it that far is beyond me, when i change at 8.5k, im still in the powerband for the next gear so i don't stick around for too long...
