Went to Phillip Island for the 1st time last week for Victorian Time attack.

https://youtu.be/lnrfn9zG0XI

Had a great time. Awesome track with very fast corners. Clocked 248km/hr down the straight. Car didnt miss a beat.

Motec Traction control is was working really well on the 6% slip setting.

I watched this great training video until I memorized every corner. It was a huge help.

Did a 1.44.09 on A050 mediums.

Nice one.

Nothing like a trophy at the end of the day.

Thanks.

I drove well within my limits to prevent an "off", its a high speed track.

When we had the drivers briefing the Clerk said last weekend 7 historic cars hit the wall around the last corner. That got my head into the right space.

Its a good day when you don't pull out a spanner. The V8 LS engine is great and very reliable, like the G13B except its got an extra 4.9 litres:)

Just like a G13B, expect that it has a real gearbox connected to it.

Gearbox is a Tremec Tk05. The word is they are good for 1000hp. Bit like changing gears in a truck.

Four to fifth takes forever. Checked my data and found on the straight at about 210km/hr I was travelling 53m to make the gear change from forth to fifth.

When budget permits im getting a ppg gearset. They make a sequential gearset conversion for the corvette T56 gearcase. About $16k all up.

The gti gearchange 2nd to 3rd is something I'll never forget, still love the gti though and have great memories.

Having worked on the car that had the PPG T56 Sequential development box in it, it is a great bit of gear. Handled the power/torque of a metal 2J punching out in excess of 500rwkw and over 1100nm of torque.

Certainly won't look back once that goes in.
