Anyone going to Challenge Bathurst Event?

http://www.challengebathurst.com/

Nuffy (ex GTI track car guy now S15) and I (skyline) are going for a fang around in the regularity class.

6 x 20min sessions. Rules are we've got to stay under 2min36sec otherwise we get black flagged.

I heard the GT cars will be there practicing on Thursday and Friday. Tilton Evo will be there going for the outright lap record.

Had a shocker of a weekend.

Saturday
1st lap broke diff. then drove back to sydney to get new one. Got new diff in by 9pm that night.

Sunday
About 10 times per lap the car would turn off for a fraction of a second and then go again. Very frustrating.
2 sessions - Black flagged for going under 2.36,

last session car stopped on top of the mountain. Discovered a week later the fuel pump relay wire screw on the toggle switch was loose.

My best was 2.31.55, (with a 4.1 new diff in lieu of 3.6) and car kept turning off!

Plan to go back next year and enter the supersprint (no time limit). Should be good for mid to low 2.20's.

One funny thing that happenend.
I was going down conrod at about 240km/hr and something hit the windscreen, due to speed i couldnt see what it was but thought to myself "was that my grill".

Looked in the rearview mirror and the thing clouted the car behind me fair in the front.

I forgot all about it untill a week later and checked it. It was gone (now in a 1000 pieces somewhere on conrod). The clips were still in but the plastic brackets were sheared and ripped apart.

Heres some footage of a GT3 Ferrari 458 car that gave a short back and sides going up mountain straight.
